Okay, I'm not sure if I am the only one who remembers this, BUT!
Remember "Davey and Goliath"...it was a Sunday morning clay-type thing. It was all about the Christian ways and all. Well, I just saw a commercial for Mountain Dew that features Davey, Goliath, the father and a friend of Davey's. It was toooo funny!! I asked Aron if he remembered it, but alas, no such luck, as he's not an 80s freak like all of us.
Just curious if anyone else saw it and got it.
OMG!!! Someone asked me just the other day if I remembered Davey and Goliath. Damn, who was that???? Anyway, I remember the claymation show, but I haven't seen the commercial. I only just saw the complete 10-10-220 commercial with Alf today. lol I also caught the Denny's commercial with Emmanuel Lewis (Webster) today. I am so far behind.....:D

I've seen Davey and Goliath doing the Dew commercial as well, Gretch!!! It's so cool to see all of these retro-references in commercials these days!!!
Another one here remembers! "Davey & Goliath" came on very early Sunday morning and it looked to be from the same creators of "Gumby".
I haven't seen the commercial yet, but I'll definitely be on the lookout!
Oh my gosh!
I remember watching that show on Sunday mornings before we had to go to church!
"Watcha doin' Davey?"
I have not seen the Mountain Dew commercials yet!
They made fun of them on "MadTV" one night though...
I remember that show, DD! Used to love it. Just saw the commercial the other day. Funny stuff. :D
Davey and Goliath used to totally creep me out. And I have never been able to reconcile Gumby's bizarro/LSD type plots with the Davey and Goliath morality tales. I would love to read a biography of Art Clokey and find out what was going on in his life that allowed him to create two such disparate shows!

Speaking of retro references in commercials, have you guys seen the new Sephia commercial? The one with the women attending their high school reunion, and at the end they show the guy that they liked from high school arriving at the reunion, playing Flock of Seagulls' "I Ran", driving a Gremlin and wearing a mullet haircut? Too funny!!!

I haven't seen the commercial yet, but I know D&G well. I love the way Goliath would say, "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAVVVVY".
