Who besides me had BILLIONS of Smurfs in the early 80's? I was about 12 when I was really collecting them, and at the peak of my collecting, I ended up with over 400 Smurfs, and loads and loads of Smurf houses, Mushrooms, Wells, Azrael the cat, etc...
Now I have NO IDEA where the heck they are, and cannot remember the names of more than 3 or 4... Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Doctor Smurf... well, damn, just 3!

Well, I've just started buying them on E-Bay. I have 17 now and am about to receive another 22! Including Jungle Smurf, an olympic torch bearer, an Aussie Rules Football Smurf, and heaps more. I also found an Abraham Lincoln, Christopher Colubus, George Washington (my fave), and a Benjamin Franklin smurf too on E-Bay. I never knew there were so many. And still being made!! <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> I had about 11 back in the early 80s but they got lost, bummer! <img src="frown.gif" border="0">

I think I only had maybe 5 or 6...I think my sister had quite a few more though <img src="tongue.gif" border="0">

Now ya got me thinking...the other smurfs...hmmm...there was Hefty, Vanity, Brainy, Jokey, Grouchy...uh...damn! can't remember! <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> lol

Well, I have just won my bid for Jungle Smurf!!! Yeah! <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> Lucky Me! <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

Oh my GOd! JUNGLE SMURF! Had him! VANITY! Had him... that was like a class reunion for me, seeing all those names! ha ha ha... man, I was young then. Just hid 30, and all I collect now are bills and extra pounds. ha ha ha...

Oh man! I'd be kicking myself if I couldn't find my smurfs. I wish I knew where mine got to in the 80s. One of them was Smurfette with some daisies. That's the only one I remember, oh hang on I think I also had a tennis smurf as well. Smurfs are big money on E-bay, starting prices are around the $5-$8 mark, $11-$15 here in Australia. I have a couple of rare ones that were selling for around $12-$15. I usually go for the lots, they're cheaper! <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

I remember my little sister had the Smurfing Sing Song album. Did anyone else have this?

Yeah, Sassette!! It ALWAYS bugged me that there was no Mama Smurf. And ALL the Smurfs were boys until Gargamel whipped up Smurfette. (Remember she had ugly stringy black hair at first?) Maybe they were asexual or something. When my son started watching the reruns, he wondered the same thing. And then he wondered if Smurfette went on dates with all the other smurfs. So, was she a little blue hussy, or what? LOL

You guys are gonna hate me for this but I hated Smurfette. I think the reason I did was because at that time I was a real tomboy and I saw her as a rival of sorts. Or maybe I hated her overly girly blonde hair. Mind you, I was just a kid and more used to playing Matchbox with my neighbor or my best friend (both of them boys) than setting out the doll table.

I had the 'Smurf's All Star' tape which I got as a go-away present when we left the US. And even today I find myself singin some of their songs. Anyone remember the title song and the one where they say what they like to do each day of the week? And then there's the one about Small Shy (I must be having a thing for songs with the word 'shy' <img src="rolleyes.gif" border="0"> )

There was a German version of someone singing with the Smurfs. Knowing the Germans the way I do it must have been a copy of some English song. Anyone remember this? I think it was Father Abraham.

Got 'em all. In Europe a lot of comics come in albums and since the Smurfs r done by belgian cartoonist PEYO...well u do the math <img src="wink.gif" border="0">

Man the 80s were great when it comes to comic-albums, and I still got ALL my albums from back then, nicely stored in holders & plastic sleeves...I'm weird that way...too <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

I kinda like my smurfs a little fluffy :lol: with cute little blue cheeks.. and if they can do the helicopter.. well that makes them all the more irresistable :D :D
