Do you prefer male or female vocals when you listen to Goth music?

I like a little both, mainly female though. :) So many beautiful voices.

I like male vocals the best. The guy from Sisters of mercy sounds so sexy. :) :eek: :)

I like female vocals. Probably just because I'm a guy, but I think the higher range of female singers gives them more of an instrumental quality. And I think girls that rock are just too cool!

I actually like both. There are cool female singers like Siouxsie and then you have like Sara said "sexy" male vocals such as Andrew Eldritch of The Sisters Of Mercy.

I like a mix of both, but I do lean toward the male vocals. Like Sara and Stacy, I love Andrew's voice and could listen to him for days at a time. He's just so sensual.

But....these days, I'm finding myself a bit more open to female vocals than I used to be. I always liked Siouxsie & Madonna, but most other female vocalists pale in comparison to all the lovely male vocalists out there.....Morrissey, Robert Smith, David Gahan, Peter Murphy, Andrew Eldritch, Rozz, Simon Lebon, Erasure....the list goes on & on......

I like female vocals better. they just sound better to me. But I have to admit, I would never get tired of hearing brad delp of boston. He has an amazing voice. could listen to him forever. But female vocals I think are smoother and easier to sit back, relax and listen and enjoy the song:D

I agree with Trix, as I do like a mix, but there are some great female Goth rockers out there!!!

Doesn't make too much of a difference to me...I like both.

I perfer male vocals but there are some great women out there i love Stevie Nix, Cyndi Lauper, Natalie Merchant, and Chrissy Hynds. they all kisck ass and i am even starting to enjoy cheryl crow.

Male vocals. Dave Gahan from DM and Wayne Hussey from The Mission and I rest my case. :)

I like a mixture of both, some songs can only be sung by a woman and some can only be sung by a man.

no joke! i was dissappointed that there wasnt an option for "Male vocals with female growls" - that would be fairly accurate for robert smith :D

I remember having a conversation with my best friend some 15 or so years ago. I asked him "Why do we seem to always like songs sung by guys more than songs sung by girls." His answer was "Maybe because a lot of songs by guys are about girls."

No matter which music direction, i always prefered male singers. :)

I have no preference, but I do think that punk guys sounded better than punk dolls singing.
