My local 80's station 107.7 The End is having a battle of the bands and singers (so to speak). Every weekday at noon (Central Time) they will have two 80's bands/singers that people can vote for either by phone or by e-mail. The winner of that will be in the semi-finals and so on until it is down to two bands/singers that fight to be the champion. There will be 32 that will go head to head (I believe). If you want, everyone can participate and it sounds like fun. Here is the link to see the dates of the artist that will be matched up together:

I didn't know you had included me in there! Cool! Don't get me wrong..I don't hate Madonna's music. I do like some of her songs like "Crazy For You", "Into The Groove", and everything off her first album.

By the way, surprisingly The Cars won the grudge match today. I am shocked personally. Monday will be my favorites Duran Duran against Whitney Houston.

I am too! It sucks because I won't be able to listen to the radio tomorrow to find out if they won. Maybe the website will say. I am curious to see who the final two will be on April 11th.

DURAN DURAN WON TODAY!!:dance: Surprisingly, it was close between them and Whitney Houston.

Tomorrow's battle is between Culture Club and Billy Idol. I think i'm going to go with Billy for this one. It's a tough decision because I like Culture Club too.

Billy Idol won today over Culture Club. Again a close vote. Tomorrow it is The Police against Milli Vanilli. My vote is for The Police.

I do think the Police was good, but you have to admit(even though they didn't actually sing the songs)Milli Vinilli(msp) put out a pretty cool album. I still have the tape and listen to it . My sis and I put in the tape and dance how they use to in the videos.
It always gets a laugh from my son.

Surprisingly, Milli Vanilli beat out The Police today! Tomorrow's matchup will be Depeche Mode against Foreigner. Even though I like both groups, I am more of a rock fan so i'm going with Foreigner.

Huey Lewis & The News won over INXS today. The final vote was Huey Lewis 68 and INXS 36. I was disappointed because INXS is one of my favorite groups.

I think what happens is that when someone doesn't know or remember a group they go with what they do know. It's like my senior year all over again. Our class song was "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake. Now it is a good song, but some of wanted "Pride" by U2, but not everyone was down with them at the time so guess which one they voted on? Exactly.
Don't get me wrong I like Heuy Lewis also, but my heart is with INXS.

Blondie beat R.E.M. 59 votes to 35 votes. Tomorrow's matchup is Janet Jackson vs. The Stray Cats. I am going to vote for The Stray Cats. They were a favorite of mine growing up and i've seen them in concert twice (1983 and 1992). They put on great shows! Plus, I always loved their sound.

My vote would have to go to Janet. I liked the Stray Cats but I've always been a big fan of JJ's!!! :)

Janet Jackson won today over The Stray Cats. She barely did because The Stray Cats were in the lead until the last minute. I didn't get to hear the results of Pat Benatar/Def Leppard today. Def Leppard was winning when I did get to hear part of it. I will try to find out Monday who won. Monday's matchup will be Phil Collins vs. The Bangles. I think I will go with Phil on this one.

The final score today was 58 votes for Phil Collins and 29 for the Bangles. Tomorrow's matchup will be U2 vs. George Michael. I'm picking U2 for this match.

Today Bon Jovi won the match with 40 votes to the Eurythmics 27 votes. Tomorrow's matchup is Michael Jackson vs. Tears For Fears. I am voting for Tears For Fears since I am still burned out on Michael Jackson from the 80's.

I would have to vote for MJ on this one, as he pretty much ruled the 80s. That was before he got all weird and distorted his face. But I did love TFF as well!!! :)
