Which one do ya like better? Think Krispy Kreme will eventually kill off Dunkin Donuts?

I haven't tried Krispy Kremes yet, but Dunkin' Donuts aren't too bad.:D

I like them both, but I prefer Krispy Kreme.

Since we have neither around here, my vot goes to Shipley Donuts!

We have no Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts here. But *Red* we have Shipleys here too. lol

Krispy Kreme hands f*****g down... Krispy Kreme is so much better, I actually get PISSED when I think about Dunkin Donuts. When I was a kid, DD ruled the Earth! I'm one of those people who actually remember how good they used to be. Most people just crunch into a DD and figure, "ahh, yeah.. they were always like this...". Nope!

Kripsy Kreme is like an all-out event here in New York. DD is as boring as an old stale donut...

I don't know how DD is where YOU are.. But the ones near me don't get any respect at ALL.

I like both, and I am eagerly awaiting the first Krispy Kreme in Rhode Island. (I've had them on vacations) The coffee is better at Dunkin' Donuts, but there's nothing like a donut fresh out of the fryer.

RI is like the world capital of Dunkin' Donuts-- though the store actually started in Massachusetts. We have, literally, more than one store per square mile in some parts of the state. I pass three on the way to work! (a 2.5 mile drive) I don't think Krispy Kreme will be a serious threat to DD's market competitiveness around here, but it will be good to have a choice.

We don't have either here.. I am so deprived:cry:
I don't eat sweets since I am trying to loose weight so even if they had one here I couldn't try it.

We just got our first KRISPY KREME shop here in this area back in November. The lines were hours long for the first 3 weeks it was open! I live about an hour away, but I do get out there at least once a month to get my fix.

This may be sacreligious, but are there still any Winchell's Donut Shops around? Ya'll remember that old dude. "Time to make the donuts". :lol:

I love the Krispy Creme donuts. The shop nearest to me closed about six months ago... I was crushed!!!

MMMMMMM......DONUTS!!!! My choice is Krispy Kremes:D The nearest KK shop is an hour away from me but what the heck...it's worth the trip!

My favorite 'tho is a little mom & pop shop in my hometown about 12 miles away called "Donut Shack". They're the best!:cool:

There's a KK store right down the road from where I work in downtown Raleigh and I'm telling you: whenever that neon sign in the window is lit up announcing that they have HOT, FRESH doughnuts. . . well, that just starts the mouth watering then! And there is a BIG line to get those doughnuts. They even have a drive-through.

Well, being a transplanted northerner... I was raised on Dunkin Donuts.

But there used to be this little place called the Donut Hut in my hometown which produced things very similar to Krispy Kreme. I was very disappointed when they went out of business.

So now that I'm down here, I think my loyalties have changed (and when my dad came down, I made him a convert, too).

My vote goes to dunkin donuts.. but that's only because they have a dunkin robbins/baskin donuts here :p just kidding.. they have a dunkin donuts and baskin robbins together here.. and that's what I call it.. I don't buy the donuts though.. just the ice cream :licky:

I like krispy cream and dunkin donuts. Krispy is nice and soft and airy and sweet. But Dunkin is really a dunkin donut, fuller more to chew. I guess it depends on the mood I am in. Although I do have to agree that Dunkin Donuts has much better coffee. I also feel sorry for all you deprived X-Changers who have neither. Im sure your around the corner shop is good.. but not to rub it in...you are missing out.:goofy:

i actually don't like donuts. never really have at all. I did, however, have my first krispy kreme last week when i was in NC. For a donut, it was pretty damn good. However, since i'm not a fan, i'd rather just avoid them and the 600+ calories they contain. I need to save those calories for all the chocolate i eat! *lol*

I enjoy Keispy Kreme but I think that the variety that Dunkin offers is superior. There is nothing like a warm Krispy Kreme donought though

My favourite are Tim Horton's. Seems that there's a location every 4 blocks here. :lol:

I vote for Krispy Kreme! But of course, we don't have Dunkin' Donuts around here.

DD donuts are kinda blah. their key is the hot coffee. a killer for cold weather climates, esp w/ a breakfast sandwich, total convenience. that they now have a whole secondary line of hot weather favorites in recent years is testament to how savvy their leadership is (they expand like a virus).

can anything top the sugar hit of the coolatta? this last summer, i developed a real taste for that chocalate bomb they call an iced latte. it perfectly compliments an extra large bucket of balls at the driving range.

KK donuts are just a different path to hell. their dual success proves that all we want is to go to our graves dancing, and w/ a smile. plenty of money to be made by both for just enabling us to indulge.

i don't know what's nuttier... people lining up before dawn for KK.... or seeing a car parked, and the front seat is LITTERED w/ DD styrofoam cups (i swear... i've seen cars w at least 50 cups in the frontseat).

and to think (shudders) that i got a hair up my panties when i first heard that coca cola initialially contained cocaine... we're more drugged up now than any 20th century writer ever envisioned. "better living though chemistry", how appropriate.

I can go either way it depends on what kind of donut it is. If its a nice glaze or long john Krispy Kreme is the best! If its cake donut or jelly I love Dunkin Donut.

I hate Krispy Kreme donuts (the only donuts I like are cake) and KK is just too..greasy in my opinion.

Dunkin' Donuts are ok, if they've been fairly freshly made. Otherwise they're like chewing on tires (but not greasy - go figure).

Have tried homemade donuts (using canned biscuits and a vat of very hot oil) - Really not good, but then I'm no cook.

Still on my never-ending quest for the perfect donut.

I think KK are to "heavy" However, every now and then I like one or two. The only DD we had here closed down like 8 years ago. I liked them much better then KK

I like them both, but sometimes it depends on the flavor. I like Krispy Kreme's lemon jelly donuts better, because it doesn't have all that powdered sugar that gets all over you. :mad: On the other hand, I like Dunkin' Donuts' strawberry glaze donuts and chocolate frosted donuts. :biglick:

I was such a BIG fan of Dunkin' Donuts. The one they had here locally for many many years closed down in the very early 90's :(

Actually, Bern and I go to the grocery bakery and the donuts are much larger and just as yummy for half the price.

I like Winchell's more than Krispy Kreme & Dunkin Donuts.

My favorite donut maker is a little log cabin called 'The Donut Mill' in Woodland Park, Colorado up in the mountains. They serve all of their donuts hot and they are so dedicant....Yummy...Smiles. :thumb:
