This was tough. I went with Purple Rain. I remember listening to this song over and over and never getting tired of it. I still have the soundtrack and listen to it from time to time.

For some reason, my favorite song from the list is "Raspberry Beret"... it was just an upbeat and happy tune and I really liked to dance to it!!!

I voted for "Purple Rain" with "Controversy" being a close second.

It's a great song, and one that helped Prince land an Oscar for Original Song Score.

It's one of the best power ballads ever.

I figured since I was the moderator of this board I would post it here....good eye OPC, I wasn't sure where to put it. I consider this to be a place to post R&B topics as well.

I went with "When Doves Cry", because the beat stuck in my head right after reading the choices. Purple Rain and Little Red Corvette would follow....umm I think!! :vibrator:

The first song that I remember liking by Prince, well, it was Erotic City. It was such a "dirty" song, I loved it!!

I chose "I wanna be your lover" I remember that being one of my favorite songs from that era. I also remember him performing it on American Bandstand. I was torn between that song and "When doves cry". That song came out the summer of '84, which was my all time favorite summer ever!

:confused: This was a tough choice. I chose Raspberry Beret though because it was a fun song but yet sexy.

This one was a tough vote...so many awesome tunes outta Prince's early 80s years :) I threw a vote in for 'Let's Go Crazy' on this one. Love a good upbeat tune :cool:

My favorite that I voted for is Little Red Corvette. The best song is actually Purple Rain though. ;)

'I Wanna Be You Lover' is super catchy. I can't help myself from turning up the volume when it comes on the radio.

It's just too hard to pick just one! I love the song Kiss, it's definitely one of my top 5 songs by Prince.

I know what you mean. There is just something about it. I think I liked that one the first time I heard it. It is truly an original song. Prince if nothing else was original. :)

As I stated in another thread never been a big fan of "The Purple One" or any of his protolays...uh..er.. I mean protoges like Apollonia,Sheila E,Vanity,Whore..etc but I picked "Little Red Corvette" Probably because I get a laugh out of the line "Girl you got an ass like I've never seen" :lol:
which 95% of the time the radio ended the song before it aired!
The guitar solo in "Let's Go Crazy" holds a "special place" in my heart as it was what a old roomate used to wake me up after partying all night! I got him back two months later after he forgot about it and partied hardy. I moved the stereo speakers into his bedroom right next to the bed and cued up Pink Floyd's "Time" on CD precisely so when I hit the play button on the remote the part were all the clocks are going off scared the $hit out him! :lol:
