View Full Version : Mad Libs
Iluvthe80s 5-10-01, 06:21 AM Does anyone remember Mad Libs? It was this little tablet with these stories and you had to fill in the blanks? It would ask for an adjective, noun, etc. I was just thinking about them today because my sister and I used to play with them. Does anyone know if they still make them?
morningmyst 5-10-01, 06:31 AM *Myst stands up and clears her throat* Yes, I can say that they do in fact make Mad Libs...Not only are they a part of my family, but, I was a substitute special ed reading helper, and we used those daily! I love those games. And, the kids have fun while learning....
I hadn't thought of those in years. lol Those were so much fun to have around.

Funny, you should mention that, Myst. My sister is a Special Ed teacher and she uses them for activities. Not that we would ever play with them when I visit... We actually prefer to play with the hidden pictures...

I had forgotten about Mad LIbs! We used to play them all the time! In 6th grade we had them in class and the teacher caught us doing them but we were using "bad" words! Its much funnier that way Anyway, she called our parents and I got grounded for a week. Which remindes me I need to pick some up for my neice and nephew and teach them how to really do Mad Libs!(kidding)--not really their just not old enough
djdaffy1227 5-10-01, 01:10 PM Comedy Central (the TV station) uses a commercial for "Who's line is it anyways?" that is just like mad libs

My sister and I as we got older would make up some dirty ones too.
Roemello 5-10-01, 04:36 PM All I did with friends was make up dirty ones I actually still have them if you can believe that!!
Iluvthe80s 5-10-01, 06:00 PM I wish I still had mine. I think when my sister comes down from Virginia next time, I will buy some just to relive some good times.
Did you ever notice with the Mad Libs how the boys "dirty words" were always different than the girls'? Boobies, booty, tatas, thingie....etc?
morningmyst 5-13-01, 07:21 AM Someone should make up a Mad Lib here and see what we can come up with. I'd do it, but I'm not that creative......anyone else???
Iluvthe80s 5-13-01, 07:23 AM Great idea, Myst! Another alternative is to find someone that has a Mad Lib book and type a page of it online and we can do it together.
Roemello 5-14-01, 03:43 AM I have the books! I'll go bring them down from the attic tomorrow and post one up if you want!
I guess what I can do is post what words are needed (noun, adjective, etc.), you guys take turns filling in the words and when it's completed, I'll post the results of the story! Sound good? or do you have another suggestion?
Iluvthe80s 5-14-01, 03:46 AM Cool! Sounds like fun.
Roemello 5-14-01, 05:18 AM Ok then, it shall come to pass! This outta be quite interesting. . .
Think you might have to post it in the freak file hehe
