Iwas just thinking today of certain shoes that are not around anymore or you don't hear about them. Remember some sneakers called Zips? I remember having some in elementary school. Then there were the Lotto sneakers were you could change out the logo with different color ones. Finally, the Kaepas which almost everyone owned. Plus, they did not have a $100+ price tag on them back then.http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//spin.gif

I had a pair of British Knights once...are those still around? Never got them again after the first pair, but they were cool for a little while back then http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//tongue.gif

I never stuck with one shoe brand...always changing my style http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//tongue.gif First Adidas, then it was Reebok (remember pumps?), then L.A. Gear, then Converse, then Nike's, and somewhere in the middle of all that was the BK's http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//tongue.gif

I remember British Knights. I wore either Reebok or Nike.

I remember when Nike introduced the $120 sneaker in the mid '80's. The "Air Jordan" I believe? Everyone went nuts and soon there were tales of school kids killing each other over sneakers.

Such stupidity to kill someone over a pair of sneakers. Get a job and buy your own pair.

I had a pair of TRAXX (if you remember them, you were poor like we were!)

In igh school, I got a part time job, and saved my cash to buy my first pair of decent shoes, a pair of white Nikes with a red stripe, just like Vince Neil wore in all those Circus Magazine photos!

I really liked the Reeboks of the 80's. They were made of a really soft leather. Don't think you can find those anymore, can you?

I've been wearing Nikes for as long as I can remember. In the 80's I had three "Fat" shoelaces in each shoe in a checkerboard style. Now that I think of it, that must have looked dumb http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//eek3.gif

I know you can still find the women's hightops like that. They come in different colors. They are called Reebok Classics.

YES! I had Kangaroos, too! And LA Gear sneakers. I also had some BKs. You can still buy the ankle-high Reebok classics at Hecht's pretty cheap. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif I wore a pair to work just yesterday! I remember when I got my first pair, my Dad teased me about my 'moon boots.'

Does anybody remember the cute little high-heeled granny boots that were big in the 80s? I have a white leather pair with flowery cut-outs and silver studs. VAVA-VOOM! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//wink.gif

I had those in Jr. High, a pair of black ones. What about those Jelly Shoes? I too had BK's (black & white) and my mom had blue & white, I also had teal & white LA Gear's. I also used to wear the high heel pumps with the lacy socks. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//00blush.gif My goodness!

They still make the classic Reebok Freestyle & Reebok Princess sneakers... the ones with the nice soft leather :) I was tempted to buy a pair of the Princess sneakers but I couldn't find high-tops! LOL.

In the 80s, I usually wore Chucks. (Converse All-Stars) At one point, I had 7 pairs, all different colors, some high-top and some not. Mostly obtained from thrift shops & secondhand. Remember how when they got old, the lining in the heel would rip out? Awww.

I can't believe no one mentioned Vans. I always wanted some of the Converse high tops but never got a pair.
