From what Trixter said I'm assuming we're talking about the Scorpion King from The Mummy Returns...If so, I'd see this movie, but they have to make him a helluva lot more realistic and believeable to look at...I was disappointed with him in TMR. Every effect up 'till his appearance was top notch, really really beautifully done, so I was let down to see how poorly they made the Scorpion King himself :)

Yes, this is the Scorpion King from "The Mummy Returns" Smurf. :)

I agree Smurf, the Special Effects department didn't do such a great job on the Scorpion King, surprisingly! It astounds me with all this great technology that shoddy effects can make it to the big screen. Maybe they'll get it right this time. :)

Here ya go Smurf, so you won't have to ask any further what the "Scorpion King" is all about, little buddy! :) Here is a synopsis of the film:

The Scorpion King (2002)

In the notorious city of Gomorrah, evil warlord Memnon is determined to lay to waste all the nomadic peoples of the desert. Because the few remaining tribes are virtually powerless against him, they decide to hire skilled assassin, Mathayus, to eliminate Memnon's most prize asset who lies at the root of Memnon's power: the sorceress, Cassandra. Mathayus's plan; however, is to kidnap Cassandra rather than kill her. He knows if he takes her hostage deep into the desert badlands, Memnon's henchman will stop at nothing to rescue her and bring her back, thus providing the perfect opportunity for Mathayus and Memnon to face only each other at a final confrontation.

I do not know who watched wrestling this past week, but The Rock was giving a tour on the set of the Scorpion King. He did it in a fashion like only the Rock could. He walked into Michael Clarke Duncan's trailer to talk to Michael. Michael started to speak about the differences between his trailer and the Rock's trailer, but the Rock stated, "Did I give you permission to speak?"

The Rock also spoke about some of the different scenes that were shot.

It was kind of hilarious. The Rock doing what the Rock does best and that is entertaining the audience.

I saw the "Scorpion King" last night and was fairly entertained.
The story is a combination of so many already done films, like "Conan The Barbarian", "Sword & The Sorcerer", "Beastmaster" and "Red Sonja" all rolled into one.

The acting was ok and the Rock did a great job for his first starring role, quite humerous. Michael Clarke Duncan did a great job as well! The sorcerer of the film, played by Ms. Hu, was the real enchantress! She is so captivating!

The story centers around the Rock's character and his brother and some other guy, they are the last of their tribe. They, with a hoarde of other mixed tribes, are out to kill the powerful Menoch, the evildoer of the film.

All in all the film has some funny moments and I was entertained, but the film was lacking originality overall. I give it a 3 out of 5 stars. :)

....

Oooooooh, we likes them fliks :D

So far it sounds more like a movie to rent. How are the effects ?? If they're well done and bombastic, it might be worth a trip to the cinema :p

There were a lot of wresting moves in the fight scenes, to be expected, but what effects there were, were good. Not shoddy. :)

I was impressed for the most part with this movie. It was fun, your basic thoroughly likeable good-guy vs. the equally dispicable villian. No mental heavy-lifting here, or deep meanings, just good time filled with arse-kicking, pretty girls, and the occasional silly moment to lighten the mood. The special effects were not overwrought, to be sure, but the CGI work that was done (the cobras & ants, for example) was believable. Call me picky, but the real problem I had with this flick was the sound effects. They were cartoonish and way overdone, IMO. A stabbing should not sound like someone throwing Jello against the wall.

But, overall, this movie was what I expected, just good (if not altogether clean) fun.
