Ok, this may sound weird but...

I dunno if you've seen any previous posts of mine, but I lead a local cover band in Cincy. I'm looking for any type of COOL (read not BAD) 80's looking things to possibly wear onstage. I have some ideas, but you guys could probably think of better ones quicker. I hope this doesn't look as stupid as it sounds! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//frown.gif

What kind of look are you going for Mr. Bender? The Preppie look? The rocker look? I have ideas for both, let me know.

I guess I could list some fashions I've seen from movies. There was the lead guy in "Lost boys". Also, remember what his little brother was wearing when he first walked into the comic book store? The Patrick Swayze/Dirty Dancing look is pretty self explanitory. I guess something 80's but not too "glam", e.g., hold the aquanet! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

You want an 80's look that doesn't involve Aquanet????? http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//laugh.gif That could be hard to come by. Hairspray was a big part of most 80's looks. Have to give this one some thought. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

Hmmm, 80's rock? Well if you're looking for glam rock, you'd have to start with some Spandex pants. Then get a vest of some kind and wear that, or rip the sleeves out of a T-shirt. Take a bunch of silver bracelets and put about 5 on each wrist. Tie some bandanas around or in your hair. I recall that a lot of 80s rockers wore plain running sneakers on stage, or cowboy boots.

Axl Rose didn't use Aquanet but he was pretty killer in his own serpentine way... http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//wink.gif

Thanks reliving, I guess I'm looking for more of the
George Michael/Richard Marx look? Anthing 80's excluding big hair glam rock.

I hope that makes it somewhat clearer....

Thanks all you guys!!!!

Supertight (read airbrushed on) acid washed jeans, razor slashed, of course. Frosted or highlighted hair, one extra long, dangling earring, sleevelee tee-shirt with Japanese writing, ankle-high sneakers with jeans tucked into the shoes and slouch socks! That should complete your 80s look! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//wink.gif

I would wear torn jeans, a jean jacket, and possibly a bandana. And I think you'll need lots of hairpspray.
