TV, MUSIC, AND MOVIES..that was pretty much what my life revolved around in the 80's. ..and still today. Anyway, there are a majority of actors/actresses that will be remembered, primarily for what they did in the 80's.
Of course, the BRAT PACk..I still have a hard time seeing Rob Lowe in West Wing, without thinking of St. Elmo's Fire.
I love John Cusack, but I will always see him as Lane Myers from Better Off Dead.
Molly Ringwald..totally typecast..she was the queen of 80's teen movies and she will forever be remembered for that.
Definitely the Brat Pack. You can't beat them.

I have been very faithful to the Moonlighting episodes on BRAVO. Can't miss it so Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd are tops with me.

To me, Molly Ringwald was the archtypal 80s American teen. I think John Cusack also defined what it was like to be a young male in the 80s. :)

Molly Ringwald --I think she wins the award for simply "being" the '80s.
Others are--
Michael J. Fox
Tom Cruise
Rob Lowe
Anthony Michael Hall
Kirk Cameron
Alley Sheedy
Judd Nelson
Andrew McCarthy
Eric Stoltz
Non-Teen stars that defined the '80s:
Mr. T
Bruce Willis
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Cybil Sheppard
Ted Danson
Steve Guttenberg
Tom Selleck
ALF
KITT
You know the absolute weirdest thing? I grew up in the '80s, from ages 4-14, but I NEVER heard of John Cusack till about a couple of years ago when he did Being John Malkovich. I don't think I ever even saw any of his other movies. Weird, weird, weird. Just totally weird. I don't know how I missed this guy.

I TOTALLY agree with you- Molly Ringwald wins out. I immediately thought about her when I read the question. She's ALL '80s... As for the guys, yes Michael J. Fox, and Mr. T also.
