I believe that is "Cry" by Godley and Creme. One hit wonders, they were in the band 10 CC in the 70's and directed (among other vids) Herbie Hancock's "Rock it" video

They also directed the famous "Girls On Film" video for Duran Duran.

This is indeed "Cry" by Godley and Cream, which is something I've been doing a great deal of in the past few hours... :(

"I'm Not In Love" was more recently covered by Madonna's Maverick artists 'Olive'. :)

and by a little known 90's dance artist Joey Kid :)

Thanks for your post, but I'm sure it's not Godley and Creme "Cry". That was a cool video, though. Morphing and all that. This was a little later.

The song was around 1986, a Euro-synth band. It might not have even charted here in the states. Spandau Balletish even.
Male singer. Still Driving me nuts.

Once again:

I'll never know
I'll never know
I'll never know why-I-I
It makes me want to cry
(Then repeats)

I'll never know
I'll never know
why-I-I
It makes me want to cry

God. I hope I'm remembering the right words. This was the "phrase-ology" though.

I had remembered the band as something like Europa. The closest I could recollect was Eurogliders, but the only song I remember by them was Heaven, and that was a female singer.

Looking for Waterfront cry lyrics or sound clip....

Looked and looked. Can't find anything for Waterfront lyrics. Even on 1hit pages. Nothing. ANy suggestions?

If I don't figure this one out soon, I'm going to apply at the post office and lost my normal gruntledness.

And quite a big hit in the UK back in the summer of 1986. Kind of an OMD resurgence after their early 80's smash hits.

As for the band 'Waterfront', I only recall one song by them and that was the one entitled 'Nature of Love'. Pretty run of the mill group really, who disappeared as quick as they had arrived in 1989.

Definately one of OMD's best, and still getting a fair amount of airplay on certain stations. A classic.

This is the song. It is 'Forever Live and Die' by OMD, it should be available on torrent / fileshare (least before they all get closed down).

'I never know,
I never know,
I never know,
why-high-highhhh, you make me want to cry'

This song is also readily available on OMD's Greatest Hits or Singles album.

(It's my favorite song of all time. And that's saying a lot.)
