Hey Y'all,

We all grew up with them. They are still running on Saturday mornings today! I'm talking about the "School House Rock" animated shorts. Back in the day, these toe-tappin' ditty's came on between every cartoon, or so it seemed, to teach us about English, numbers, math, science, history, etc.. I sure do miss seeing them. (Luckily they're on video and will be coming out on DVD later this year! ;) )
So my question to y'all is, what were your favorite "School House Rock" shorts?

My favorite was "Conjunction Junction, What's your function?". I used to sing that song all the time. I also liked the "Interjection!" that has already been discussed. Actually, I loved them all!!!

I liked most of them but One of my favorites was The Bill. I'm Just a Bill.. Something about Captial Hill???... But it was really cute..


Bye the Way does anyone remember the guy Zack... Something about a future job.... It used to come on around the same time the school house rock commercials would come on.

Oh yeah! That Zack thing is ringing some major bells, Sapphire, I'll see what I can find out for you.

I remember those every Saturday as a kid. Wasn't there one about verbs also? I forgot how it goes. I remember all of the ones everyone mentioned.

I liked the following:

"Adverbs" : Lolly, lolly, lolly get your adverbs here...

"Conjunctions" : Conjunction junction, what's your function...

"Three Is The Magic Number"

"Mrs. Jones, Lady On Hudson St." (I'm not sure what this one was about, but it went like this:

"Mrs. Jones is a lady on Husdon St.
Told her dog to bark at my brother and me
Gave her dog a big fat bone
And now he barks at Mrs. Jones
The lady that lives on Husdon St."

"Zero Hero" (kid in cinema house)

Oh yeah, I totally remember those! My favorite one was the one about the adverbs. I used to drive my mom nuts because I'd go around the house singing it.

I always liked School House Rock. I thought that School House Rock was a good idea of blending animation, good music and information. It was a staple at my house during Saturday mornings. My favorites were "Conjunction Junction" and "Bill from Capitol Hill".

My favorite is "Three is the Magic number" yes it is it's a magic number..

Rhino Records has a great box set with all the songs.

They were all so good...decisions...decisions...:confused:

For me, either Electricity or Conjunction Junction.:hammer:

Let's see...I'd probably take "I'm Just a Bill", followed by "Conjunction Junction", and then maybe "Lolly Lolly Lolly Selling Adverbs Here"
But I can't forget "The Preamble"!

I pretty much liked them all. But the one I liked the most was Figure Eight. I loved that song, from the opening to the ending!

Bought all the videos for my kids!! Hey, I learned a LOT from those things!! The Preamble to the Constitution was my favorite. When we had to recite that in Political Science in High School we were all WARNED NOT to sing it!! :laugh: We had to SAY it!! Do you have any idea how hard that was??!! :lol: :laugh:

I still sing "A Noun Is a Person Place or Thing". It had the cartoon with the little girl playing "The Monkeys" on the jukebox.

I loooove "Unpack your adjectives". You know, "Went down to camping last spring, saw people places, and things...".

My favorites are I'm Just A Bill and Conjunction Junction.... I miss watching them, used to know them all by heart !!!!! Awesome post subject !!!! ;) :)

Loved them all. I have the videos and audio CD's
Now my children all sing the songs I used to =P

I saw the episodes on DVD recently and was tempted to buy them! :thumb:
