I need to know by true punk fans, were they legit or just a bunch of posers? I have a collection of their songs called singles, I like it but wasn't sure how anyone else feels.

The Exploited were as legit as a punk band can be,they are one of the few true punk bands ever to exsist!I have almost all there albums including the hard to get import stuff.

Wattie(the lead singer)was in the army as a youth and became very disillusioned with the political climate he saw first hand,so all the anger in their music is as true as it can get.

I've loved this band for years,they never sold out like so many bands that came along,thats why they're mostly ignored by the music press,even though they've influenced bands from Anthrax to Ice T(who covered the song U.K 82 on,I think,the Judgement night soundtrack)

But I'll stop babling on.

100% legit. I was really into them back in the day...a bunch of my punk friends got me into them and I still pull out my Exploited vinyl every now & then.

Cultleader...that's true. I remember hearing that story about him. I love that song, "Army Life"

Thanks for the answers. I am into so many different types of music and punk is something I recently discoverd. I saw they had some top 40 hits in the UK, that's why I asked if they were legit.
