THE FAMILY CAT

In a sense this is the success story of the last 20 years.
The 4 girls who joined forces from 1983 to 1986 just became bigger in differing ways.
Virginia, the Ultimate Cult Artiste, found a market in Japan, where they worshipped her.The 3 CDs which were on sale there were issued in the States in 1998 through her Rosebud imprint and she went on to become the World's rarest Collectable.
Jocelyn Pook is today one of the leading lights in the Classical Crossover field, her music for the film Eyes Wide Shut having sealed it for the lady who began her career as a session musician who appeared in the ABC movie Mantrap.
Anne Stephenson, who is a friend of mine, has done countless sessions and is due to appear in concert with Jocelyn in May.She is one of the Brilliant Strings, who added all those great sounds to records by Bernard Butler and a heap of other things. At one time Anne was an auxiliary Woodentop.
Audrey Riley another session player, became a member of Icebreaker and an auxiliary Family Cat.
Also there is Gini Ball, once married to Dave Ball of Soft Cell...who are due to cut a new album in June. She's also a friend and she played on Virginia's demos. She and Dave Ball made a great single in 1983 as The Other People, called "Have A Nice Day",which must be one of the rarest ever 80s singles.Today Gini is another in demand session player, still with links to Anne Stephenson:both were members of Marc Almond's Venomettes in 1983
