As i said in my post on corny things, one of the few traditons i ever had was getting one of these every year at christmas.
It was usually divided up between the regular clothes and stuff and then a huge toy section. It always had huge two page photos of toys like the transformers,gi joe, care bears etc. These
were fun, they also had great sports sections too.
Any thoughts??
I used to take the Wishbooks to my room and pretend I had a million dollars. LOL, that was fun, practicing to enter the capitalist machine.
My favorite things from the Sears wishbooks were the exclusive Breyer horse sets-- Black Beauty, the Andalusian family, and the chestnut Arabian family. Girly toys, yes, but I still have them, and I'm saving them for my kids. ;)
Mary C you're a girl after my own heart! Almost all I ever asked for at Christmas and birthday time were Breyers! Last year we moved into a new house and my computer's here in a room with a lot of shelves, so I finally dug out my boxes full of Breyers and I have about 40 horses staring down at me now as I type.
My sons are showing minimal interest in horses so far, but maybe when they get old enough to go riding with me they'll appreciate these models more. (My husband certainly doesn't.)

Yay! That's wonderful. I only have a few on display right now, (Sham & Lady Roxana from King of the Wind, my favorites) but as soon as I have more shelves, they're all coming out of their boxes, where they are wrapped in bubble wrap :) Mine are all intensely played-with, scratched and dented, even the ones I got in junior high school, LOL!
Sometimes you can find the Sears exclusives on eBay, but the prices are outrageous. I'm so glad I kept all of mine. I do like to look at the pictures. ;)
My Breyers are all a well-used, played with, mess too. I had considered selling some on ebay, but then I got them out and couldn't bear to part with any of them, so on the shelves they went.
I did have to buy just one more off ebay for my birthday this year...Assateague Island is my favorite beach and I never had gotten a "Misty of Chincoteague" model before. I can't be a good collector if I don't even have the local hero now can I?
