Hey Y'all,

Is anyone eagerly awaiting the release of "Halloween 8: The Homecoming"? (thought so. :) ) Anyway, I think this is getting an April release, now that's already a bad thing, why don't they release these films in October?
The only thing that draws me to the film is that Jamie Lee Curtis is reprising her role as Laurie Strode. Sadly though, the rest of the films plot (yeah, it sorta has one. :) ) kinda sucks. Some local Haddonfield kids decide to hold a live webcast from the original Michael Myers home on Halloween night. Busta Rhymes is in the film, need I say more?!!

What in the blue hell?! Ok, H20...good flick, I thought. Now, am I dilusional or did I not see Jamie Lee chop Mike's head off at the end? I thought that was the end of it dammit!:lol:

They really shoulda just let this series go with H20....leave it on a decent note at least...:p

Oh please! Not another one! I didn't even particularly like this series anyway. But knowing me, I'm a glutton for punishment and I always have to see every movie in the series. But who knows, maybe this time I won't bother! *YAWN*

I like the Halloween series. (Well, except for the one with the exploding mask plot from the Silver Shamrock company, or something like that. What was that all about?) And the Halloween theme is the only piece of music I've ever heard that actually frightens me. It just absolutely sends chills up and down my spine!

Anyway, I'll probably wait until Halloween 8 comes out on video (a strategic October release, no doubt), and watch it then.

Possible spoilers.

Roem, you're right, I had the same thoughts about Michael and his beheading. There was a quick fix to this, they were planning on revealing that it was Laurie/Ms.Tate's estranged husband trying to kill her in "H20" and not Michael at all, thus he still lives. How about that!

That was Part 2, Season of the Witch. That was actually my favourite of the series. I thought it was quite creepy. And it was also good because it was the only one that didn't have Michael Myers in it. He always struck me as being a very unscarey psychopath. He always looked pretty pathetic to me.

Recker my man, I'm sorry to have to correct you on this, but 'Season Of The Witch' was installment number three, do you remember "Halloween II"? :) I agree, it was creepy, but it was rather annoying after awhile, because of, "Five more days to Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, Five more days to Halloween Silver Shamrock." That just drove me crazy!!!

Okay, they are carrying this series TOO long! H20 was a good ending and they should have left it at that. I don't even think I will care to see the new one.

You are right, it was part 3. I remember now because Part 2 was even worse than part 1!

I have to go with Roem on this subject - for me, it seems like a shoody attempt in flogging a dead horse. Probably I´m just overfed with all those 'Scary Movies' which had flooded the cinemas recently, but I won´t go to the cinema or rent it on DVD to see Halloween 8 for sure.

Just saw H20 yesterday on TV (miracuosly uncut!), and it didn´t differed that much from all the other Halloween sequels. Michael Myers approaches, kills, and is supposed to be dead after the most unlikely accidents.
Now explain to me...how will they 'revive' Michael Myers after Jamie gave him a nice and clearly visible shave with the fire axe? Soul transition? Genetic engineering?

I can understand that Jamie Lee Curtis refrained from further approaches in this series - she´s a damn good actor, and it would surely leave no good mark in her records.

Leave it at that...Michael Myers is finally dead, and any more sequels will make turning this classic horror into a tragedy for this genre.

While this was my favorite series, I'm not at all happy about this lame plot for an excuse to showcase the latest teen heart-throb.
Jamie Lee is the only bright spot though, and if she signed on then I guess it's worth my time. Once again, I know I'll happily be in line with Trixter for this one.

You got a date Deb! You know how I love my "Halloween" series, even though it's gone too far, and yes it should have ended back at part 2, but LAURIE STRODE rocks!!! :thumb:  Actually, Jamie Lee Curtis, is gonna be the draw to this one. I totally respect her as an actress. She saved herself from forever being pidgoenholed into another scream queen!

First LL Cool Jay. Now Busta Rhymes. I guess there just has to be a rapper in it. I mean, what good would a movie be without a rapper? Anyone? I probably wont be back to this thread...

The original Halloween scared the beejezzus out of me as a kid!!! And you're right, Stacy, that theme music is utterly chilling!!! I'm surprised that Jamie Lee Curtis signed on for this installment, as she has always sworn she would never do another Halloween movie, but she ended up doing H2O ('course, she was paid $8 million to do the film!)...

I only have ever seen the first two....and, like Michael, they scared me to death!!! I probably won't go and see the movie, but I may try to rent it when it comes out on video.

I don't love being scared in the theater...I get embarrassed if I scream too loud!!

I like to scare people when I've seen a horror film or it's become predictable. Gretchen, you'd be the perfect person for me to sit behind! :sneaky:

The first couple weren't too bad, but after so many films, the plot gets flimsy and the movie becomes a parody of itself. I didn't see H2O, and I may never see it. But the plot to the 'new' one sounds weak, at best. Let sleeping dogs lie!

It's the same with the Friday the 13th movies. Enough, already!! Get a fresh idea, or retire and leave us in peace! Where are all the good, old-fashioned, scary monster movies? With the special effects these days, we should be running to the bathrooms, afraid of wetting ourselves!

I strongly agree with you ValJ, but It's sad to say, I think those good ol' days are over! Originality is lacking in these films. But the late 70's and 80's ruled, when it came to original horror films! :thumb: I would like to be scared sh!%less, like the good ol' days!! :)

I love scary movies and I like the halloween series. I thought H2O was cool and I hope this one will come out in the movie theaters in Denmark.
