I don't know if anyone's caught this yet, but whilst visiting mother at her work earlier today, I found a nifty little special collectors book from People Magazine on the 80's :) It's pretty good too...stuff on some of the celebs, music, culture, etc. If nothing else, it got some awesome pics :D

This is really weird, as I sent People magazine an e mail about three months ago suggesting that they do a "Where Are They Now?" feature in their magazine about the 80s! I think they took my idea! :eek:

I bought that mag last night b/f I even read this post!! I just got through it today. WOW! I had forgotten about quite a bit....I felt like I was back in HS again. Not that I would mind!! *giggle*

Magazine type book....and nothing to do with MTV (although that is mentioned being part of the 80's and all) :)

I just heard about this issue being out on newsstands today from the fanclub listserver, so now I have to get both the Celebrating 80's issue of People, and the regular People magazine with Gary Condit on the cover because Pat Benatar and her daughter are interviewed in it with pictures from what I've heard. :)

I'll have to pick up the issue of People with Pat Benatar in it as well. Naturally, it would be better if Pat were on the cover instead of Gary Condit...

"People Celebrates The 80s"-The top magazine of the year, if you ask me. My mom got it for me as a going-away present for college. Great pics and cool profiles/summaries. Hooray for the 80s, and kudos for People Magazine deciding to dedicate a special to the decade.

I just bought it recently... :) Took it home, shared it with my kids, was giddy in my memories... and then my oldest pipes up with, "God, Mom... you really *liked* this stuff...? And your hair looked like *that*...?" LOL... I guess today's kids will never understand just how "cool" their parents once were... ;)

So, how much was it? Can I find it at Barnes and Nobles or Borders?

Stacy, it costs $9.99... I know, it's kinda expensive (for a magazine, anyway), but, considering it is a collector's item, I think it is worth the money!!!
