I never heard of this. For a while there I used Farrah Fawcett hairspray - I think there was a hurricane warranty on no strand out of place with that stuff lol.

ReagansRenegade 10-25-00, 01:15 AM Nah nah nah, ya gotta go with moussé, its the best stuff going. But of course a little Aquanet with your moussé helps.
Roemello 10-25-00, 02:23 AM I never heard of it either...eesh, where were we?! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//laugh.gif
Now Aquanet I remember...I only tried mousse a few times...didn't care for it much http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//tongue.gif

Your Right, It Was A New York Thing
I remember my sister using that!

Elloit
Sal,
Sadlu i also remember that stuff. I used it regularly from about 85-89, right before I joined the Navy and had to cut my hair off. I also remember another kind called "freez-spray" that stuff was WICKED. but, if it got wet, it would look like you had big chunks of dandruff in your hair. it would get gooey and break up in your hear. NASTY!
GOod thing I shave my head these days, I would hate to have to mess with that stuff again!

Sal Collaziano 11-04-00, 05:29 AM First. Welcome Elliot! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif Yeah, mostly girls used it! It was way too sticky for me anyway! And Jasper. I think I remember that other stuff too. I might have used Stiff Stuff once or twice but never the other one. You've gotta post up some long hair pics for us. We're going to be making a photo album soon. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

Sal, Unfortunately all photos of me with my BIG HAIR are long gone. (thanks to a VERY ugly break up with a girl I had dated for 4 years) I may be able to find one of me with SOME hair, but since I shave it all off these days, you would not recognize me anyhow. To let you know I styled my hair like the bass player from Stryper, except I have red hair, which always got the chicks attention. To bad I was dating that bitch and could not take advantage of the situations presented to me. :-(

Sal Collaziano 11-11-00, 02:44 AM Oh, terrible.. Bad break-up. Sounds no good! Well, we live and learn. Right? If it's not for the mistakes we make, how will we know when we've done something right? Well, atleast you knew you COULD have had fun with that hair. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif hehe

Iluvthe80s 5-10-01, 10:13 PM I've heard of Stiff Stuff. I think I even used it once. I used a lot of that Studio Line by Loreal back then. Remember the colored mouse called Pizzaz (I think that was the name of it?)? That was real big back in Junior High.
djdaffy1227 5-10-01, 10:57 PM When I read stiff stuff I thought it was something else. sorry, my minds in the gutter never ever used hairspray. I didn't believe in "Big hair" I even hated it on women. Sorry again.
Sorry. Can't help ya'. Been using Aussie Mega-Spray for to many years. Not only does it have great hold, but it smells good too.

Urethane 5-11-01, 10:24 AM I tried them all, Stiff Stuff, Bold Hold none seemed to do the job (or last more than an hour for my hair). I then found VaVoom! That stuff was so stiff it was like a plastic coating for your hair. Infact shampoo alone would not wash it out! You had to use baking soda along with it, now that was some serious hairspray.

I had it, in a gel form. I think there was Stiff Stuff gel, hairspray and mousse. I never heard it made you go bald, tho!

I live in Washington, DC, btw. So it wasn't JUST a New York thing. Remember LA Looks hair stuff? Now THAT was a total fad...

Was it in a pink & white bottle?? I do remember Stiff Stuff here in California! My friends all used Aqua Net, I used mousse but with my thick hair, I had to use the hair spray's that were in a pump bottle, those in the can's were awful in my hair!! I did use the Aussie Scrunch spray and all their shampoo products (yummy smell!!)

cultleader 5-11-01, 05:12 PM All that stuff was crap, when I had my Liberty Spike Mohawk,The only thing that would hold it up was Elmers Glue.Great stuff, worked great and washed out after about 5 or 6 shampoos.
Roemello 5-12-01, 07:30 PM Glue?! Only the Freak Lord could come up with such a technique
cultleader 5-12-01, 07:40 PM Actually glue is a very common hair product in the Mohawked world!Along with Knox Gelatin and egg whites.(neither of the latter worked very well for me,though)
Roemello 5-12-01, 08:09 PM The last two I heard of, but not the glue Never had a mohawk either, so that kinda explains that one
Oh admit it Roemello you wanted to get one.
Roemello 5-14-01, 03:40 AM Yeah right....I grew up in the ghetto...they'd have my head if I sported that deal
