I was definitely a bracelet girl, as many as I could fit on my wrists......I also wore the big belts that hung down and wacky earrings, the bigger the better. We used to make friendship pins with the beads and put them on our shoes....speaking of shoes I used to wear lots of different shoe laces, I had little aligators printed on them , ladybugs, bands.....I still have my Duran Duran, and Madonna shoe laces http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//laugh.gif

The great thing about the 80s was that guys could accesorize too. My best friend was wearing a fedora way before Pretty In Pink http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

I wore fat neon laces, but I wove them in a checkerboard pattern. I didn't actually tie the laces, they became like slip-ons.

I wore denim jackets with patches of bands sewn on, and pins all over.

You know, i never really thought about shoelaces.
I know kids started wearing the sneakers unlaced when Run DMC became popular. I used to tuck them in, not sure if i pulled the look off.
Of course, i was a "toothpick" as my cousin Billy called me back then, and as we all know, thin people can get away with anything!
Also, Promo Pins! They used to have them at the five in dimes in my old neighborhood. I did have a denim jacket, so maybe i WAS accessorizing in that respect. Kind of funny thinking of a six year old accessorizing lol.
I remember a kind in my kindergarten class had velcro sneakers, i wanted a pair so bad, and when i got them (like two years later hahhah) they were these awesome navy blue nikes.
I accessorize with Wranglers now- just for the ladies mind you. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//pimp.gif

I had a grey John Taylor hat I wore sometimes. I had a spiked black floppy belt that wrapped around twice I wore with my parachute pants. Of course I had tons of big and colorful earrings that were big back then. Also, some of those black rubber Madonna bracelets.

Fedoras! Wow I had almost forgotten about those. Speaking of men and accessories...I had this thing about men in creepers in high school (1985-1988).

Remember the leggings with the huge tshirt and you had this odd peice of plastic that you pulled the tshirt through? I hated em but my mom dressed me up in em. I was too fat to keep the plastic in the shirt lol!

Does a hair crimper count as an accessory? You cant live without the hair crimper, it was more important than the hair dryer!

I also used to wear up to four watches at one time...

I had 10 pairs of leg warmers. I loved big combs in my back pocket of my wonderful flower pants.
I loved jelly shoes, anything that was made of jelly.
I had big belts. Wow isn't amazing that those trends have not come back yet? haha

Okay - I just had to have a go at this one....

Hats, bandanas, Swatch'es, rubber bracelets, huge earrings, braces (that's suspenders for you Americans ), Converse hi-tops, Dr Martens, black pointy shoes, Sebago Docksides (okay what can I say - I went through a lot of phases..), badges, thin brightly coloured belts worn many at a time, fingerless gloves in neon colours, multi-coloured shoe laces, legwarmers, anything with Chinese or Russian print, anklets (bracelets worn around the ankle), hair braces, Buberry socks, waistcoats, peace symbols, sweatbands and backpacks...*phew*...

Hmm..it was just more fun back then, wasn't it?!

Well, letīs try to look back through the haze of time...

I had torn jeans before they were popular. Even the teachers looked suspiciously at me, I bet they thought that my parents couldnīt outfit me properly...
Either Nike basketball sneakers or cowboy boots (they were so shabby, it fits again to the outfit), a German Airforce pilot or a College jacket (with a sticker by the Special Forces), army trousers, no-name sweatshirts (my protest against Benetton, Marc īO Polo or Hugo Boss stuff) in grey or black, own-styled T-shirts with cryptical drawings and codes and sometimes a black beret.
Once I owned a shirt which was cut like a trenchcoat...boy, it was so cool!

But Iīm not sure that I would dress up like that again, although it seems itīs going to be hip again...

wow, it's too bad we can't dress like we did that would be radical!! I had all of the accessories!! Inever could get those dran banana clips to stay in my hair!! I had the friendship braclets, jelly bracelets (like twelve on each arm), jellies (these were the best shoes ever in my opinion), I had the snap bracelets, NKOTB pins like on everything I owned!!, I did the whole jean jacket patchy pin thing, plus the colored converse high tops!! But the best accessory ever was the fact that everymorning before school I used to crimp my hair and cirl my bangs!! I'll say I don't misss the agony there!! My bangs never looked right so I always had to wet them and start over like one hundred times!! Remember those shirt clips and neon shirts with parachute pants!!

I did it all....and then some!!! I loved every trend that came out and wanted to follow it! I recently found all of my Teen, Seventeen, Young Miss mags in the attic. (Why my parents saved them, I have no idea!)

*SIGH*

Maybe that's why I am addicted to Glamour and the Glamour Don't's!!!
