Did you ever wear leg-warmers or those sweatbands, especially after Flashdance?

I'd hate to say it but I did, the leg-warmers that is. Even to school in winter! Mum used to make ours, very cool I thought back then.

Yes, I too, wore the leg warmers! To school, gymnastics, dance........wherever! I didn't get into the head band thing though. Made my head itch. I did wear the ripped sweatshirts and whatnot! Ahhh......the memories!

Yup, I remember legwarmers! Though mine were less a fashion statement than just a way to keep my pants legs dry from snow or rain on the way to school.

Here's some other fashions that I remember:
those really long belts that wrapped around your waist twice; and add-a-bead necklaces.
Anyone else remember those?

I think any kind of belt was fashionable back then. I had a pink and one with gold trimmings and a little gold chain on it.

Hate to interrupt you ladie, hehhehheh, but i dont suppose you have pictures of yourselves from way back then do you? I bet you dont- no one thought to take pictures of all the cute girls back then, its a travisty and i mean it /ubb/smilies/frown.gif
Lol, i OWN Flashdance and have watched it like 50 times through (no joke!) and i wanted to make a website using pictures i could've grabbed from it with my WebTV Plus- but my television doesnt have the necessary second pair of audio/video outputs. Oh well. I used to have armbands and i believe they were certified G.I.Joe regulation but somehow all that stuff just disappeared.

What about all the "preppy" stuff that was large in the `80's?
Personally, I hated that stuff, but you can't really have a conversation about `80s trends and fashion without mentioning it!

Well i DID use to tie my jacket around my waist up until i moved to florida where wearing jackets is usually impossible! Also, i envied alligator shirts in first grade because they look imperious. Is moüse preppy? I wore lots of that. Even hand creme, which was a suggestion my cousin and best friend Jeff thought was hilarious /ubb/smilies/tongue.gif

I have to admit especially to Pavgus that every so often when I'm out on the skis I wish I still had my pink leg warmers http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

My friends and I wore the torn sweat shirts too with the head bands. We used to twist two colors together and wear them like that. It didn't last that long though because it was itchy and messed with the big hair.
