Ok technically this isn't a movie, but I couldn't find anywhere else to put this, so here it goes.

Last october (maybe even september), Fox released the entire first season (13 episodes) of The Simpsons on DVD.

Technically The Simpsons is 80's because it started off as a series of 30 second to 1:30 minute short on The Tracey Ullman Show, waaaaaaaaay back in 1987.

Anyway, I finally picked up the DVD at Costco about 2 weeks ago. 3 full CDs in all. Each cartoon is full length (obviously), nothing cut out, with optional commentary.

They also give you concept drawings, what the characters were originally drawn as, behind the scenes, how The Simpsons started, scripts, and so much more.

From what I was reading, eventually more seasons will be released. They are into the 12th year right now and looking at going over 14 years.

Even if you are like me and download the cartoons off the internet, you gotta get the DVD collection! My copies don't do justice compared to these!

This might be old news, but I only found out about this collection a month ago. It rocks!

Ok so its not a regular movie, but I couldn't find a better place to write this.

Aaronw, that 'Simpsons' DVD set is fantastic! :thumb:

I've enjoyed watching those early episodes, a couple I've never seen.
The art is a bit different, but it gives you the feel of their beginnings. I just wish they could have added all the shorts from the 'Tracy Ullman Show'.

As for subsequent seasons on DVD, Season 2 and Season 3 should be released this year. Season 2 for sure! I can't wait! :thumb:
