View Full Version : Official 80sxchange Awards: Category #3 - Best Comedy Film - 1981
Iluvthe80s 1-28-02, 08:59 PM Sorry this one is up late this week. Pick the top comedy for the year 1981. This poll ends on 2/11/02.
I voted for "Porky's". That movie is hilarious! I just saw it again recently for the first time in years and it still makes me laugh.
Although I loved C & C's Nice Dreams and Stripes, I went with Porky's. I was just about 13 when I finally saw this movie, and I laughed like...well, like a kid. LOL
Cartoon_Chris 1-28-02, 09:33 PM Hmm. This field looks a bit weaker than 1980. I voted for Stripes, Bill Murray was on a roll back then. Arthur would be my second choice.
I voted for Stripes. It was a great movie and a very good comedy. I think it is more adult than my second choice, Porky's, so Stripes it is. :)
I picked Cheech and Chong's "Nice Dreams". I also liked "Porky's", "Cannonball Run", "Stripes" and too.
18th Century Brain 1-28-02, 11:59 PM I'll vote for Stripes just because of the obstacle course scene. I laugh at that part no many how times I've seen it.
What a great selection of movies there, but my favourite has to be The Cannonball Run. So many great stars and so many great cars! And plenty of humour and action! My kind of movie!
Caligula 1-29-02, 04:54 AM Porky's all the way. I still love watching this movie, when the guys play a practical joke on one another, it looks like they are really laughing or trying to hold back the laughter. Stripes was good but I'm not a big Bill Murray fan
this charming man 1-29-02, 09:14 AM I thought Porky's was in a league of it's own, it seems a lot different from the others, although I haven't seen C&C's Nice Dreams.
I've watched it on video over and over and over again, but I haven't seen it for about 15 years. It becomes even funnier the more you watch it, as you can see the plots develop earlier and realise who is involved. From the moment it starts with Pee Wee Morris waking up until the end, it is full of funny and serious issues.
From the moment Tommy got caught in the shower, the Lassie scene with Kim Cattrall and through the tallywhacker scene, I don't think I stopped laughing. I laughed so much during the film it definitely has to be my best film for this year.
The Canonball Run would be my second choice and like Recker said, it had so many stars in it. It used to be one of the favourites on the school bus and everybody wanted to do their Captain Chaos impression.
Thanks for posting this one Stacy, I'll get the next two. :)
I voted for "Stripes". Bill Murray is just so hilarious! I can watch this movie over and over, well, I do! :thumb:
Porky's was just too hilarious.
I had to vote for that.
LadyMysTrix 1-31-02, 05:46 PM I voted for Stripes. I really like Bill Murray. This movie always makes me laugh from beginning to end.
angeleyes25 1-31-02, 10:55 PM I guess I have to go with Porky's since that's the only one I've seen out of those movies!Since I've been hearing so many good thing's about Strips maybe I'll rent it.
VioletFoxx 2-03-02, 06:54 PM What great choices! I loved all these movies, but had to pick History of the World Part 1. Madaline Kahn was fantastic!
To anyone who hasn't seen Porky's or Stripes, do yourself a major favor and rent them soon. They're both sooo hilarious.
