I have IBM PC versions for most of those too.

My favorite game from the 80s was Pac-Man. I used to go to bed and dream of eating little dots. It was very addictive.

Gauntlet was a brilliant game. I used to drain mountains of coins in one session. It was truly addictive. Of course I always had to play the Warrior.

One of my personal favourites was Rygar. There was just something about that game that brought me back time and time again to play it.

You think the arcade version was good? You shoulda tried the one for the NES. It spun the arcade version into an adventure with an actual storyline (same basic gameplay though). Very fun :D

Rygar for the NES was very cool. A buddy of mine and myself rented that one while in college. We both missed a few classes because we got so addicted to that game. I played it on an emulator not long ago. Fun, but not the same.

A number of 80's arcade games have either been re-released on CD already (or for PS or NES or whatever), and some are still being released.

Atari put out a new Centipede about 4 or so years ago. They have the classic mode (which is a 3D rendered version of the arcade... similar but not exact). For a HUGE Centipede fan, its pretty good. It also has an adventure mode. I don't like it...

Hasbro has put out Frogger and Frogger 2. I think both have classic mode, although only part 2 might, I don't remember. The g/f plays it all the time. I couldn't care less...

During the late 90's, Champ Programming wrote Pacem, Ms Pacem, Centipedem, Donkey Kong, Galaxian, Galaga, Invaders, Asterocks, and possibly a few others. Even though they are out of business, you can still get the shareware version. JROK (www.jrok.com) has full working versions of Pacman, Ms Pacman, and Qbert. They are very good too!

Atari put out a classic arcade pack with Centipede, Tempest, Asteroids (I think), and a few other games. Never got it, but I have a few games off it.

The deal is, if you really like the old games, you might check out some of the home computer versions. They aren't 100% identical, but they are close.

Saves you quarters and its nice to sit down and play.

In reality, I would rather play Pacman or Centipede than Unreal, Quake 3, No One Lives Forever, etc...

Makes me wonder why I invested in a Geforce2 titanium...<sigh>
