Is there anything that you did in the 1980's that when you think about it you wish you could do it again.

Like for me-

1.Sleeping in the living room on weekends so i could watch tv all night long.

2.Watching the old FNN Financal channel on weekends so i could see pro wrestling and for awhile so i could leave on a quirky all night home shopping gimmick they had called Telshop. My dad once told me the following morning, that he overheard them experincing an earthquake (they were in CA) live on air!! After i'd fallen asleep.

3.Visting my cousin on some weekends where i live now.

4.Going to wrestling matches with friends, including a hot looking blonde.

5.Watching VH1 and MTV when they played music!!!!! I can still remember the orignal and some of the following vjs on both.

6.Night Tracks-See above and my night tracks post.

7.Ogling certain girls in junior high that i wished i'd nailed.

8.Seeing that above metioned blonde..and the other friends.

I'll probably have more.

I like corny

Ditching school on a rainy day to play on my Amiga or go to the arcade

Spend my entire summervacation riding & fixing my BMX (yes in that order )

Spend whole week-ends watching movies with my friends, all alone and no parents

Earn a little extra cash and spend it all on comics.

Going to parties, dancing and drinking all night

Sure...sometimes I´m dreaming about it when I´m delighting myself on this board...
And, there´s nothing corny about - it´s okay to hang on your dreams, even when they´re located in the past.

So, here are my favourite 80s activities...

- collecting 12" vinyl
- tuning my 50cc-moped
- playing Rugby (we seldom won a match...but had lots of fun though)
- hanging around with my friends
- parties all weekend long
- drinking (sometimes too much... )
- going out, especially when it was after the mandatory curfew
- also sneaking into bars and discos though I was underage ( with 16 you were allowed to stay out until 10 pm, later extended to midnight / 18 is the age of consent here)
- chasing the ladies (sometimes to no avail... )
- being able to sleep 12 h in a row
- arcade and video games, pinball machines

Well, my weekends and sometimes also the weekdays were packed with fun and action...I think I would die of exhaustion when I would try this today...

I hear that Wavey. My body can't hack it anymore (well, not like it used to anyway).

I would love to be able to go out five nights in a row again. I'd pass out at my desk if I tried that now.

I would like to see the original MTV, Night Flight, Friday Night Videos, etc. I would want to go out with my friends like I used to. I would want to be able to turn on the radio and every song be great like it used to be.

Comming home from the skating rink on Saturday nights and watching Headbangers Ball on MTV which started at midnight. They always had hot ladies on the videos.

I miss:
the Music, the Clothes, the Girls/Women, the Nightclubs I used to go to that are no longer around, being able to stay up Late and not feel lousy the next day, Friends I've lost contact with, the Videos played on MTV, VH1 and Night Tracks?, the all-around Good Times and being Young(er) with not a care in the world.

I would go back without hesitation.

I think I would just like to be able to re-live one weekend of cruising around in my car with my friends. It was a weekly ritual and they were very good times. I miss those times and miss those guys.

No kidding, huh Shakey? I loved cruisin! I even talked my dad into letting me take his car out. (He had a 1968 Camaro SS) I loved that car. *my older sister wrecked it about 10 years ago* (he was going to will that car to me. ) I loved driving around and picking up guys!!!!

Yup, Myst! Those are great memories. The Camaro sounds like it was sweet... I had a little RX7. Two seater, but we always managed to fit 3 or 4 people into it.

I want to relive the summer of 1986 when my family was away for the whole summer. It was homealone 80s girl style. I partied all night went to work all day and then partied again.

Bike rides with my bestfriend.

Evening summer boat rides and waterskiing on the Georgian Bay.

Skipping school to go to the beach in early June :)

Hey, I love this.

Hanging out with my friends from school.

Creating our own clubs

Playing tennis with my best friend and driving everybody nuts.

Going to funfairs.

Being with all the people I was with in 7th and 8th grade including the teachers because even the awful ones we had we could just laugh off. That was in germany and the whole class stuck together all the time. Never came across loyalty like that again with so many people at once.

Making my parents take me to London - now that was fun.

Visiting with my relatives and seeing my favourite cousin and hanging out with him and getting into all sorts of mischief. Once we got all our money together and went for a meal in this really posh restaurant.

My neighbour who was also my best friend from the time I was 9 until the age of thirteen. Boy did we cause trouble...

Sleepovers - now how cool were they?

Things I used to love to do in the 80s.

get my $17.50 a night from my part time job, and walk the 1.8 miles to the shopping center to buy a slice of pizza and an orange sode for $2.25.

Go to the Army Navy store and look at all the weapons.

THEBEAR2000, I also used to buy all the wrestling mags, and read about the areas I could not see on TV. The Mid Atlantic and the Portland Oregon areas always intrigued me, being from Mississippi, I never got to see them.

Sleepovers were great. There are a few of us that get together at my cottage every summer - drink a lot of wine, eat a lot of food, drink more booze, dig out the year books and stay up all night being 16 again. Its the best fun and I look forward to it every year. No husbands allowed. :)

I miss jumping in my car with a bunch of friends and just driving around listening to mixed tapes, singing at the top of our lungs and taking jumps at railroad tracks. I also miss coffee runs to Barrie or Toronto in the middle of the night. I you knew the highway we took to do this - we were nuts LOL

Skipping school (the funniest time was when we got caught because my friend wouldn't let me drive her home and say she missed the bus. She tried to go back onto school grounds and catch the bus, getting all three of us busted! I laughed at the principal, which pissed him off.); cruising with my brother, two of his friends, and two of mine (none of us were dating); graduation parties that a lot of sophomores weren't invited to; the high school football games where the boys and girls walked around looking for friens and/or crushes instead of watching the game; I could go on and on....LOL

On skipping school...I recall the time I told the study hall teacher that i had to use the restroom. I meet my friends outside. We went cruisin! Wern't even missed! :p LOL Than there was the time I hid under the stairs at home and the lady that cleaned our house caught me! I had to do the friggin' dishes for two weeks as punishment. :( As a teenager, I was able to get away with a lot because I was the innocent looking one! :D (stop laughing!!)

I still to this day love wrestling, nothing has changed there.

I do wish my best friend was still alive. We had the greatest of times wether it was camping with my parents, going roller skating, drinking (Shame on us) or just talking to each other we always had the best of times. First time I ever got drunk was with him, the first time a girl dumped me, it was him I cried too, when I found out one of my girlfriends was pregnant, I told him before I told my parents. He was the only male besides my dad and brother that I ever said "I love you" too. God, I miss him. :(
