View Full Version : studying the pattern of cyberstalking

It seems that the person who is your cyberstalkee is not the same one who is your cyberstalker.
Is cyberstalking like a form of musical chairs?
I've tried to study the pattern since I last had a cyberstalking thread and still don't get it.

I think I said this the last time you posted...the way I see it, you get to be close friends with a particular individual and you become stalker or stalkee of that person...that's just my take on how it happens...

Some see it as posting after their stalkees posts which I suppose is ok too as long as the stalker is also contributing to the discussion and not just stalking :p

Roem, if you did answer my question last time, then I apologize for having you repeat yourself.
I must be losing my memory from growing old and getting senile.

I think you're trying to break this down into more than it is... What I meant by that is simply....throwing a post after your stalkee that says something like 'just stalking' and that's it, without anything to add to whatever topic is in question is pretty cheesy ;) Ranks right up there with over excessive quickie 3-4 word posts that just make one cringe :vibrator:

It seems that you're confused over the difference between stalkee and stalker.

You are a stalker if you stalk some one (or you are posting after them)

You are a stalkee if you are being stalked by someone else (or they are posting after you)

Steve,

I'm as confused as you about stalkers and stalkee's, but this has helped to clear it up a little. Think I'll now post an advert for a stalker.

Hahaha! This is funny. Didn't Roem and Val start the stalking just because they had good chemistry and would post around each other alot? I'm not sure. I think the stalking thing just sort of comes naturally. Although I did aquire my stalkee thru an ad. Of course I was sort of stalk/bugging him about his 80s history posts too.:p To tell you the truth I don't know how some of the xchangers get to stalking so quickly. All in good fun though! ;)

Yeah, that's basically how it started...we're the original stalker/stalkee duo :D She found herself posting right after me a lot and said she was stalking me...then after a few chats she ended up my official stalker...others liked the idea and eventually it spread like wildfire til everyone had a stalker/stalkee

You know, Roemy, I have tried to find this exact post since all of this mess came about, but I can't! All I know is, Tinajo said she was Sal's stalker, because she thinks he's God. LOL ;) Well, mine and Roem's story is just the way he told it, I guess. His memory is probably better than mine. But the whole stalker/stalkee explosion didn't happen until Pagan asked if guys could stalk girls on the boards and could he officially be my stalker. Well, I may be crazy, but I ain't stupid, so my tag line was then filled! And then the race was on, so to speak......

*puts her shovel down* I dug this up with a purpose
Not exactly a rule Rotten Kiwi boy, but its bad stalking. Which you are totally accused of by me.

The Crime?
Posting after Therrall in the Metal forum and then publically admitting that you know nothing about what's going on in the post. And its not a 1st offense either.

And unlike you Rotten Kiwi Boy, I have material proof and 3rd hand witnesses that you commited the crime! :p :witch2:
Off with his head!:mwaha: :jason:

I've done some diggin of my own tonight to find where Val started stalking me (and where this whole stalking thing as we know it started on the forums)...and low and behold....

The catalyst....

And you are right Ty, it is not exactly a rule. :p but not necessarily bad stalking either. That is a matter of opinion.

One or two frivilous posts is not a crime. (I am hardly a regular offender) On the other hand I see nothing wrong with posting a humerous message every now and then to make people laugh. If it makes people laugh, it's a worthy post in my books.

I personally don't see any thing wrong with being a dedicated persistent stalker, and the majority of my posts are contributing anyway, so pointing out one exception is hardly a cause for making an issue. Once you have stalked the same person as effectively and consistently for as long as I have, then you have the right to make criticisms, but until then, please stop singling me out. :argh:

Now that I've had my gripe, on with the show......... :)

I'll gladly admit I've done the post-stalking thing on several occasions, and you know what ? I'll do it again, if for no other reason than to piss off somebody ;) :D

I always thought the stalker/stalkee relationship occured when people had had a blast in DC or just posted back and forth for a while .... Something that spawns from relationships with a good chemistry .... At least that's how I got to stalk Milani in July, and Peach in march :p

i think it's just a form of flattery. its nothing serious or has any 'structures' really.
it's kinda a harmless way of flirting and seeing what the person posts, what his/her views are, because you're interested.

(hope that helps for someone:)
everything can be simplified, IMHO

See, this all stems from what you started. :tsk: This is my vengence... I'm gonna hunt you down till your little rotten kiwi butt screams that you are very, very sorry for what you said.

And since I just noticed your new tag line in your sig... I'm gonna be hunting for a while. Funny thing, where were you last night, since you didn't dare pop into DC? Someone hiding cause they're scared? :mwaha: :p

Its Witch with a captial W you Rotten Kiwi Boy :witch2::p

Just boosting this thread up to the top again as a new member has asked about stalking and this seems to be the thread that we all quote these days.

Any other comments on stalking folks?

I tend to think that it's a mutual agreement between two people. Generally you like that person's style or you have developed some kind of friendship with that person. However there are "secret" stalkers out there as well who do it without the knowledge of the person stalking. That seems to be quite acceptable. :)

Well, considering I'm not cyberstalked or cyberstalking, I was surprised to see I started this.
But of course, we're all getting older with each passing second so my memory may be going bad.
