Charles Dickens would have to be one of my favoriet writers. His works are dark, there is always a struggle of good over evil, and a morals message. I have two favorite works of his: "A CHRISTMAS CAROL" and "A TALE OF TWO CITIES". I read the latter early on in high school and was an instant admirer. I highly recommend giving Dickens a read if you haven't already. :thumb:
I have read all of his books. My absolute favorite is Little Dorrit. His books suffers from the fact that he was paid per page back then. Even though they are great books, they often seem to be dragging on very slowly.
Dickens, the master of detail. LOL.
Great Expectations is still one of my all time faves.

"A Christmas Carol", "Tale of Two Cites", "Great Expectations" all great. There was one book (i can't believe I can't remember the name), that I did an indenpendent study and thesis on in my senior year english course. I remember having the hardest time with it. hehe.

I love "Great Expectations". Dickens could set a mood and set the stage for the story and you could actually drop into it and feel like you're there.

You make a good point Deb. Most, if not all, of Dickens' stories take place in the dreary, cold, and dark streets of London. He really wasn't varied in his locations was he? Don't get me wrong, I like the setting of his stories. :thumb:
