I've been yaking about Expose in another topic, so I thought that I would bring them up here, in the Freestyle forum. Out of all the freestyle artists that came out of the late-80s, they were the most successful. Not all of their songs fit the freestyle category, of course, as they did have some hit ballads, such as "December" and "Season's Change". "Point of No Return" and "Come Go With Me" are freestyle anthems that hit Top 10 in the US. They ended up being the most successful female trio of the 80s, selling millions of records and a string of successive Top 10 hits. Anyway, I always felt that Expose didn't get the props they deserved, so I thought I would give them a forum here where fans can share their appreciation!

Glad to see you posted this in here, I was about to do it myself!
Expose, in my opinion, helped define 80's dance music! :thumb:
"Come Go With Me" and "Point Of No Return" were hits I danced the night away to! "December" and "Season's Change" are their best ballads. I also like "Let Me Be The One" and "What You Don't Know", I think these songs get overlooked sometimes. Gioia's presence, made the group for me, her departure was mine as well. Expose is one of the best!! :thumb:

I think I've sung the praises of 'em in the past...they do kick ass! :D 'Point of No Return', 'Come Go With Me' and 'Let Me Be The One' are a few of those songs that just don't wear out for me  Then again...neither does most music from the women of Freestyle....love 'em all! :D

"Let Me Be the One" is my favorite video from Expose, when they are all decked out in their 80s high fashion wear and looking all glamourous and beautiful. I also love their anti-violence song, "Tell Me Why?"; a good 80s song with a strong message. I also like "Your Baby Doesn't Look Good in Blue", although Gioia had left the band by the time that one came around, I believe!

Uhh. For a second, when I saw "Let Me Be The One", I thought we were referring to Safire!!! Yeah!!!

Okay. No more of that..

Didn't Expose do a remake of Hazy Shade of Winter also? They certainly were an awesome group. I loved 'em.. I consider them a Freestyle band. :)

I also enjoyed Sa-fire, Sal. I enjoyed all of those all-female freestyle bands! ;)

I believe you are thinking about the Bangles who did a cover version of "A Hazy Shade of Winter", Sal.

Didn't we have a discussion about the difference between those two songs of the same name a while back?

I better not mention the different song 'Point of No Return' by Nu Shooz then either....more mix ups..

Expose was one of my very favorite female groups of the mid 80's. I always liked "Season Change", "Point Of No Return", "Come Go With Me", and one my very favorite songs from the EXPOSURE album, "Love Is Our Destiny". Let's face it, all the songs on the EXPOSURE album were great songs.

Expose's Exposure album is one of my fave all-time albums, Sarg! Back in the 80s, I played my album cassette so much, I wore it out. I had to buy a new one. I do have Expose's Greatest Hits on CD, but I really would like to have Exposure on CD, but I've not seen it anywhere!

Same here Wonder Twin!! All the titles were worn off of my cassette! I used to have this on cd, but I was stupid and sold it to get money for a record convention so I could buy some Madonna collectibles. I am now in the process of replacing a lot of my old 80's cd's and out of print cd's. I have the greatest hits to hold me over! I want "December" on cd!! :thumb:

I just re-bought Expose's "Exposure" CD, I seemed to have misplaced mine. I had been listening to my cassette! Geez, every song on that album moves! :thumb: Well maybe the exception of "December", that just a damn good ballad!!! Anyone agree?

I absolutely love Expose's Exposure, Trix!!! It has some fantastic tracks! I used to dance my little pompis off while listening to my cassette, which I completely wore out. Now, I just need to buy Exposure on CD now as well....

Geez, I didn't realize that Exposure was going to be such a hard album to find on CD. I'm glad that I still have mine now.

Hey Michael, Thanks for that link for Gioia's site. I saved it to my favorites. You're right about the way she looks now.
I would say a good word for her is STUNNING!! She has those beautiful piercing eyes that can make you melt! Mmmmmmmm

I have always loved their music, and just yesterday I bought their "Greatest Hits" album. All I have to say is WOW all over again! I absolutely love how their music is pop but it has that Latin flavor. And they also have their ballads, which is great.

No-one's mentioned "In Walked Love" which was written for them by legendary songwriter Diane Warren - which was covered by Louise in the 90's.

And what about mentioning "When I Looked at Him"? That song still gives me the chills when I hear it. I used to dream of coming to America when I heard it, and now look, I am in Miami! Too bad the music is not what it used to be. Cheers from Miami, Simo
