Hey Y'all
Does anyone remember Michelle Shocked? She had a song called, "When I Grow Up". She was a unique artist with a unique sound. I really enjoyed her music and I was wondering if anyone knows what she's been up to lately?

She also did "Anchorage". I loved that song! She had the video were it was like Robert Palmer's videos only she had tons of guys with white faces dancing around her. I don't remember what the song was. Is it the one you mentioned Trixter?

Thanks djdaffy, now I remember "Anchorage"! That was a good song!
About the "When I Grow Up" video, some guy and Michelle are dressed up like ladies with big summer hats in a bayou-like garden having a rather demented looking tea party. They have these half-crazed looks on their faces and they start throwing and decapitating the dolls that are sitting around the table with them. It was interesting to say the least.

I remember her name, but can't remember her music. Need to find an MP3 of one of her songs to refresh my memory.

I can honestly say that I have never heard of her.

Don't they also softball with the doll heads at the tea party?

And wasn't the one with all the guys, the Greener on the OtherSide?

Close! :)
It was "On the Greener Side"(1989). That video won Best Female Video at the 1990 VMA's. Frankly, I thought using an original (and pretty good) song for a parody video was a hokie idea. It was all the rage among MTV's female viewership, but one wonders whether that was because of it's cutting social commentary...or the hunky guys.

Wonder no more. It was the guys.
