This 1989 album by Motley Crue was their best-selling album to date. It spawned some of their first top ten singles like "Dr. Feelgood" and "Without You".

This album was harder sounding compared to "Girls, Girls, Girls" and "Theatre Of Pain", but still carried that pop/metal edge. This is one of those albums to definately go crusing around in your car with the stereo full blast.

Some of my favorite songs from the album are: "Without You", "She Goes Down", and "Dr. Feelgood".

Tracks:

1. TnT (Terror 'n Tinseltown)
2. Dr. Feelgood
3. Slice Of Your Pie
4. Rattlesnake Shake
5. Kickstart My Heart
6. Without You
7. Same Ol' Situation
8. Sticky Sweet
9. She Goes Down
10. Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)
11. Time For Change

This was the album that really made them mega stars. Some fans will say it was too over-produced. I tend to agree a little. Technically, one of their best, but they had moved away from the rawness and edge they started out with on their first release Too Fast For Love. Motley is an ever changing band though, so it was to be expected. It still a great album to jam to and has a ton of great songs. My favorite tracks are Don't Go Away Mad and Time For Change.

I didn't care for "Dr. Feelgood" at all, I much prefer "Theater of Pain", not that album rocks! My favorite Crue song is "You Got The Looks That Kill"!

I loved Dr Feelgood too!

Apart from that, I can't say I'm a fan.

Not BAD, but overrated by the public at large for making it as popular as it was, pushing the newly rehabbed Crue all the way to #1 in the U.S. a little over a month after its release in September 1989. And the singles still kept coming after that...

I was initially kinda disappointed by this album since all the "right" songs were selected for singles/videos, so I'd heard all the good ones already, and the other songs turned out to mostly be mediocre-to-bad sleazy hard rock with dumb horny lyrics and not much in the way of catchy hooks. But going back to the best songs, no doubt in my mind that "Kickstart My Heart" is one killer track and easily my favourite cut from this album. The title track is another good example of the 'metal' side of the band, good and punchy. And the requisite power ballad "Without You" works as a sweaty, soft-focus slow song for a lazy summer time (y'know, when the day's gotten too long and hot to do any more headbanging). Weighing the good and the filler together I think it equates to a slightly above-average late-'80s hard rock album, and I give it a low 7 out of 10.

If you have the new 2003 re-remaster you not only get the bonus demo cuts from the '99 re-issue, but a slightly more understated version of "Time For Change" which I actually prefer to the finished album version. But that's the one exception as the demos could be further proof that producer Bob Rock deserves a lot of credit for having the band work really hard - the older version of "Kickstart My Heart" especially needed help ("oooh! aaahhh!")

I loved Dr.Feelgood but it wasn't the best crue album. There were six great songs and the rest were all real throw-outs like seriously! The great songs were of course Dr.Feelgood, Same old Situation, Kickstart my Heart, Without you, and the underated She goes down. The rest were real garbage, don't listen to them! It had some great songs but it wasn't the Motliest crue albums it was more poppy not much aggression. The best without a doubt are too fast and Shout! The motliest albums would have to be Girls, Girls, Girls and shout!
