I heard that this will be shown on VH1 soon...behind the music series...can anyone tape this for me...we don't get this in Canada...thanks for anyone's help!!

After all that hype..I missed the show. Man, I was bummed out yesterday. I got stuck babysitting and didn't make it home on time to watch it. I know they're going to be showing it a few thousand times on VH1.

I saw it. It was nowhere near as good as a lot of the other BTMs. I think it was just a vehicle to sell the first BTM album. It didn't *begin* to go into depth about the band. No mention of the Gina Schock heart problems, the Serious BBQ tour, etc... It was a waste of an hour for me, and I'm a *huge* Go Go's (damn, I've always *hated* that unnecessary apostrophe) fan. Gina Schock is gawd!

I saw the BTM on the Go-Go's. I have to admit that I was one of those teenyboppers totally snowed by their "girl-next-door" makeover. I had no idea that my punk-influenced idols were slutty drug-addicts who were catfigthing backstage. I kind of wish I never saw that side of them. Back in Junior High School the Go-Go's gave me inspiration to strike out on my own and carve out my own identity.

It's interesting that the press never busted them on that kind of behavior. That kind of cover-up would never happen these days. Example: George Michael!

Oh hell, I *met* them shortly before the end of their hey-day on the Serious BBQ tour. Belinda Carlisle was *so* drunk it was terrifying. She came out of the trailer with a beer in each hand, two roadies holding her up, saying, "Where's the f***ing shirt so I can sign it." At least what I think she said. It was comprised mostly of spit and beer.

Jane Weidlin was a pleasure to meet, as was Gina. Kathy was pretty quiet and Charlotte had a serious glazed look in her eyes. No doubt it was the Smack, now that I look back in retrospect.

I was suprised by none of this. For some reason I had always known they were a pretty rowdy bunch of grrrls. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Belinda, what a drunk! I was totally snowed over by the girl-next-door image too. Jane Wiedlin seemed cool though. Does anyone remember her solo career? I remember she had a song called "Rush Hour", it was in the movie "License to Drive". I have a cassette somewhere of her solo album. I bought if for like $1.99 at HalfPrice Books.
