Well..here is another problem I am having!
I recently purchased a scanner. Primascan Colorado 2600u scanner.
I inserted the CD and followed the directions. It has been installed on my computer. However, my computer can't locate the scanner??
PLEASE!! Any idea?? ;)

Try this: unplug the scanner turn off your computer then plug the scanner back in and turn the comp back on, your comp should be able to detect the scanner, hope this helps :)

Come on, Kitty, this canīt be so difficult...I mean sending me that ticket... :p
Okay. It seems that you have installed the scanner, but what exactly went wrong?
Does it have something to do with the use, the scanned pic etc.?
Install was completed. When I plug in my scanner my computer does not detect it.
I reinstalled the drivers for this device but when I go to MGI PhotoSuite and pick 'get' then choose 'scanner or camera' then I select device and USB scanner is not listed in the drop down?? It's almost like it's installed but not really?? UGH... Do I make sense??
I got $70 will that be enough to get you here?? LOL

The most important first...currently, I wouldnīt get out of town even if you have 7,000$. 7 inches of snow today, and it doesnīt seem like stopping...and weīre invited tonight. Guess my Scirocco have to work as a snow plough then.
Okay...uninstall the MGI PhotoSuite first. If it asks for a reboot after deinstallation, do so.
Then, check if the scanner is properly connected and switched on. Hit the "Start" button on your Desktop, select "Settings". From there, select "System Properties/Settings" (I think next time I will install the English OS ;)). Doubleclick on "System", select "Devices Manager". Check if your scanner is listed there. If it is so, uninstall it. Usually, Windows will ask you for a reboot. Do as required, make sure that the scanner power is on.
After rebooting, the OS should now detect the scanner. If not, refer to the manuals for a manual installation. Install MGI again, check 'Normal' or 'All options', so you get the full program support.
Let me know if it had worked. Otherwise, we have to dig deeper... ;)
I got it to work but it is now acting funny..like its freezig up? Anyways...I am returning it. :p Poopy scanner!!
Thanks for all your help Mr. Tech Slut! :D You will be rewarded in due time!! http://www.plauder-smilies.de/naughty.gif hehe
Side note..7 inches of snow! LUCKY YOU!! I wish it to snow here. ;)

Sorry to hear that it didnīt worked for you. :(
I had similar problems with the first scanner I ever bought. Had to return it...damn, it looked very good on my desk. ;)
Try to change it for a scanner with parallel port connection if USB is giving you trouble. I donīt want to lead you through all the steps of upgrading your BIOS... :D
Currently, we have some 10 (!) inches of snow. Too bad it will melt again soon, according to the weather forecasts. Should last over the 24th...otherwise, my g/f has promised to kill Petrus. ;)
Iīm waiting in anticipation for your favours... :p
