Whats the deal on injury reserve, I got rid of Mario cause he's injured and I see he got picked up on an IR list, can you keep injured players ? and not lose a position player?

If a player is on IR in real life, you have the option (in your drop-down position list) to place him on your IR. This means he won't count against your # of active players. The moment they come off IR, you have to make room for them on your roster again or cut them.

If you check the "Roster Notes" section of the rules on Yahoo Cal, it does mention IR. I looked at our league settings but they don't mention IR. The rules state that a public league has one IR spot and private leagues can have up to five. Maybe this option was not chosen for our league? What say you Nolan?

According to the "League Settings" link on the League Overview page, we have two IR spot per team. (Under Starting Positions) This may only be viewable by me, but I thought we all could see it.

You're right Nolan. I see two IR spots available in Starting Positions. Not sure how to put players there though. The total number of starting positions totals 16 (including the IR). The total number of roster slots in the Edit Lineup mode is also 16 (including the two Bench spots). I guess the bench should be used for players that are on IR but you don't want to let go of?

Not exactly. The bench can be used for any player. Only players on real-life IR can go on your IR. To put someone on IR, use the menu beside their name that you'd normally use to assign their playing position or bench them. If they are on real-life IR, the IR option will appear in that menu.
Was my picking up of Mario not kosher? I didn't know why he was released, I just had to make some roster changes anyway, so I picked him up & stuck him on IR.
