For you lovers of Gary Larson and the Far Side I have some bad news.
In Barnes & Noble the ther a day a picked up the new 2002 Far Side Desk Calender, the one with a cartoon for everyday. On the back it says this is the last year for this series of calender.

This is very disappointing news. I look forward to buying my Far Side calendar every year. Gary Larson has such a twisted sense of humor... much like myself... ;)

I have a lot of the books, but never bought the calendars. Love his work though.

Oh, the agony!! I will miss his calenders. I love his goofy humor! ;)
Awww, bummer! :( those are great cartoons
I'm glad I've been saving my favorite strips for the past few years, then! :) I have "Welcome to Hell - here's your accordion," "Nervous little dogs prepare for their day," and "Ship of Fools / Car of Idiots" up in my cubicle now.
How sad! I love the Far Side. It was bad enough when he retired from the daily paper, but not even my calendars?!?! :(
One of my favorites was a man and a pair of scissors dressed up to go jogging and the man says "I'm sorry Kevin, but my mother says I just can't run with you anymore."
That is a major bummer. A friend of mine is going to be really upset by this news. She has used her calendars to see what type of person she is hiring. If they get the farside they get that much closer to landing the job LOL - HR would have a field day with her.

Those were funny cartoons. It's a shame they will not have anymore.

Thatīs really sad...my sis and I have all of Larsons cartoon books which were released here, and the Farside belongs to my absolute favourites.
One of the many cartoons which stuck in my mind was "How Abdul failed the drivers license test" (sorry for the translation...this one was from a German edition), in which two men on a driving school camel (!) smacked straight into a pyramid (!!)... :)
