Has anyone used any of those high school reunion type of sites? I went to classmates.com and highshoolalumni.com. I haven't stayed in touch with anyone so it was cool seeing the list of my old classmates that have registered with these sites. I have "talked" to a couple of them on the bulletin board and the email supplied by the sites. I even checked on the couple of years before and after I graduated, this enabled me to find a guy who used to live next door to me! I haven't talked to him in at least 15 years! The internet is great! You guys should check these places out!

Yes, those are wonderful. My husband is now in contact with a man that was his best friend in 5th grade. Over 22 years ago. I recommend it to everyone!!!

I actually found about 7 kids from my old neigborhood (I lived in Navy housing, and every house had at least 2 kids in them.) I still am looking for a few old friends. I actually got in touch with the first 2 girls nice enough to sleep with me. (Yes, I had to email them and appologize for not knowing what I was doing)
But I also got in touch with one of my old teachers and football coaches. He was just about my favorite guy.
I would recommend them all, classmates.com, highschoolalumni.net and there is one more I cannot think of right now.

Try them if you are living any place away from where you went to High School.

My Mum was telling me yesterday that she got an email from a girl that went to school with her in England back in the late fifties/early sixties. I thought that was kinda cool. :)

Wow! Who dug this old topic up? Pretty cool. Last time I was at Classmates.com they were charging you for everything. They used to give you limited access for free, now it appears they are getting very greedy. Oh well...

Creeppy! I finished school last year and I'm happy I haven't seen anyone but my two best friends since school ended. The thought of my old classmates make me sortta ill, but then again... we couldn't stand eachother anyway, teachers included.

I am a member of both Classmates and HighSchoolAlumni. I have been in contact with a number of friends I haven't seen in years. These sites are fantastic. :D

I am still desperately trying to find one of my best friends in the world, but he hasn't been to the sites to register, I haven't talked to him since I moved to Texas from Hawaii in 1984. Are there any other methods of finding out where someone is, without the use of a private dick? I tried the site "Four11", but he is unlisted there too. Oh well, I guess it's just a waiting game.

I checked out classmates.com and did see a lot of people on there that went to my high school. None of them I would care to look up but maybe one of them.

Trixter, have you tried posting to the message boards there at Classmates? There is a chance that someone may know how to reach your friend. (There is a separate message board for each school, if you can believe that.) Good luck.

Vilji found me after 16 years on classmates.com. Then she introduced me to this place. So, I guess I have Vilji and classmates.com to thank for this site! :)

I have tried them. Still get the emails now and then about "6 new classmates, per your request, etc.". But never have really found anyone I've been really searching for yet.

I tried the sites out but I never got in touch with anyone. Funny thing though. I just started putting some of my smaller cheap paintings on Ebay about a month ago just to see how it would work out. Three weeks ago my best friend from kindergarten through high school purchased one of the Ebay paintings. I had not talked to him since my wedding in 1989! Funny thing is that when we were kids he asked me what I thought he would be when he grew up and I asked the same of him. He said I was going to be an artist and I said he was going to be a scientist. I found out that he is a geologist doing surveys in the Gulf of Mexico. That was cool! Spooky, but cool :mwaha:

I joined classmates a bunch of years back when they 1st came out. They sent me an email to join for free so I figured why not... Honestly though, I really have no one I want to be in touch with from my past. My opinion is the past is the past and anyone I want to be in touch with I kept in touch with... A few people from elementary school contacted me and it was nice to be thought of, but honestly I wouldn't have contacted them myself. I look to the future in meeting new people :)

A couple weeks ago, I found that someone has set up an alumini website for my old high school, I have been in touch with several old acquantances. Man I didn't think I aged, but when I see picturesof them now, I'm expecting to see what they looked like 20 years ago and if I didn't knwo then I'd think they were 50 years old

i belong to Classmates.com. But now they charge for everything. I don't use it anymore and I reallycould care less about my classmates. Yeah I sound mean don't I. LOL

But I see my classmates all over town so who needs that site. My reunion is in November but I'm not going to it. I'm sick and tired of their phony BS!!!

There are many sites..and yeah I belong to all! LOL You'll be surprised that some poeple are on one, and not the other, so many old friends are may be spread out everywhere. They are fun to look at and read their profiles over the years. Here are a few that I know of:

Classmates.com
alumni.net
reunion.com
gradfinder.com

I registered with Classmates a few years back, but my school actually has an alumni section on it. The school I went to actually has alumni events at the school a lot during the year. I haven't been back there in a while to visit, and I don't know if I will ever see anyone from my graduating class.

In 2001, I registered with Classmates.com (http://www.classmates.com).

More recently, I've registered with Reunion.com (http://www.reunion.com) and SchoolNews.com (http://www.schoolnews.com).

I belong to a couple of sites like that here in New Zealand. I think they are great. I have been able to e-mail many old friends from years back to see how they are doing. One of these friends I used to hang out with all the time over the course of about a year. He lives in the UK now, but it was great to exchange a few e-mails with him.

I recommend signing up at these sites. People are always trying to track down old friends for some reason or the other. Someone may even be trying to track you down. So why not make it easier for them? (Unless you were the sort of person that had a lot of enemies. )
