When you're driving to work or just around town, ever see people in other vehicles do dumb things? Like putting on makeup while trying to talk on a cell phone?

Come to NY Sarge...you'll see people do stranger things than that!

What I can't figure out is...what is the invisible force that makes people feel the need to pick their nose when they come to a stop light?

My biggest pet peeve is people driving while talking on cell phones. I think every state should pass a law that they can't drive and talk at the same time on them. I have almost been in three wrecks because people change lanes without looking or are driving too slow in a lane while talking on a cell phone.

Stacy, I was actually involved in a wreck a few weeks ago because of some lady talking on her cell phone.....ended up with a black eye *eek* and a neck brace for a week. I have a cell phone, and it's great. I just don't talk and drive at the same time!

Sorry to hear that, Myst. I'm glad to see you are one of the responsible ones that does not drive with it. I used to have one. I told everyone that would call me if I don't answer it quickly, it is because I am finding a safe place to pull off of the road and talk.

I saw some guy reading a book driving on the freeway the other day! How he managed that, I have no idea. I honked and he did the one fingered wave to me! *how rude!*

Yea, i've seen them reading newspapers too. That and putting on makeup. I have never understood that one. Don't they have a mirror at home? I do all of that before I leave the house.

Here in NY starting on Nov. 1st it will be illegal to use a handheld cell phone while driving.

I have a cell phone, but I don't use it while I am driving.

I talk on my cell phone while driving, but i use an earphone (looks kinda dumb, but it works).
As for the strangest thing I've ever seen someone do while driving: Eating cereal.
Yes...in a bowl...with milk, & a spoon (I wanted to yell, "Ever hear of a Pop-Tart?!?")

The most stupidest and weirdest thing a man has done while driving...and a sure receiver for a Darwin Award:

A truck driver found not only a small death but also the big one while he crashed his truck into another one who was the last standing in a traffic jam on a German autobahn at night.
That poor man was said to be giving himself a good time by fiddling with his own gear shifter and was so attracted by the action that he didnīt noticed the end of the queue and his end rushing nearer...

I canīt confirm that this story is true although it appeared in some newspapers, but even if itīs just a story, itīs a good one for sure...

The really scary ones are those that are driving with both hands on the steering wheel. They are leaning forward as far as they can and driving as slow as possible, looking terrified. They never look around, not even in their mirrors (or don't seem to). As careful as all this sounds they still end up causing an accident. You guys know the type of person I'm talking about, they are just too stupid to have a drivers license. And what DPS officer gave it to them should have their head examined.
These people suddenly cut across four lanes of traffic without warning or looking. They stop to get on a major highway or stop on the highway so they don't miss their exit. They drive 20 miles below the speed limit in the passing lane. The police should be able to pull these people over, yank their license, call a cab and a tow truck. Get them off of the roads!
Sorry, I've had too many dealings with these types lately. I even saw two of them actually cause accidents.

I have had sex while driving
and I was late for a job interview so i had to change clothes while i was driving. I am glad i didn't cause a wreck.

The one that pisses me off is the driver that have to make a last minute lane change right in front of me! What you didn't see that I was already in that lane??? Fluckin' Assclown!

I thought of another one. What about the people that want to fly past you then get back over in your lane and then do below the speed limit. Another is they fly past you, get back over in the lane in front of you, then decide to go ahead and turn so you have to slow down.

No, not another story about the joys of having fun behind the wheels...

Whatīs really pissing me off is when Iīm on the autobahn at high speed (which has become pretty rare because of the traffic and high fuel prices ) and someone is forcing me to slam on the brake hard just because he thinks "Well, if Iīm doing 120 km/h the others can do as well".
Iīm usually having the high beams on so everyone can see me, and than thereīs someone waiting behind a truck on the right lane...500 meters...400 meters...300 meters...and when thereīs only 100 meters before passing, the left turning signal is on, and at the same time that nerdīs changing lanes.
Last time this happened was on Saturday morning, 1:00 am...frantically worked the horn, flashers and the brakes to avoid an crash, and all I got was the middle finger.
Yo thanks stoopid...next time, meet my Sidewinders...

I use my cellphone all the time, wheter I'm in a car, truck or tractor...But always with a hands free kit in the car, or a portable hands free (earphone)!
There was some talk about making it illegal here also, but the police couldn't possibly control it, since we're the second country in the world, to have the most cellphones/capita! second only to Finland!!

There have been a couple of times lately, when people have driven right through stop signs talking on cell phones. I am always more safe than sorry when driving cause you cant trust anyone. I do sometimes talk while driving but only for a minute or two, and I plan to get the hands free device. As for people eating, putting on make up, or even reading, I dont know how they can manage to do that.?.
OH. just thought of something else. People assume that when the light turns yellow, the people in front of you will rush through, and so will you. I assumed that today, and had to slam on my brakes, because the guy in front of me stopped. Then I saw someone else do the same. Smoke came from his wheels, and the guy in front of him tried to move out of the way to avoid being hit!!

Here in Ohio, (Brooklyn, OH to be exact), it IS against the law to talk on a cell phone. You can be pulled over and given a $100 ticket for the violation. If I am not mistaken, it was a big deal, and on CNN for that being the first city in the country to take action.

Personally, I find even talking to be a distraction for me...if I am talking and glance to Aron, I veer. So, I just kinda keep an eye on the road!!

A friend of mine already drives like a maniac. Well she also has a cellphone attached to her head most of the time - rude rude rude! She has her car plugged into her cigarette lighter but the cord won't reach her when she is sitting upright so she moves her body to reach her phone with one eye basically just above the dash to see the road. She is going to kill someone. We've argued about this - she's right I'm wrong -WHATEVER!

I've seen guys plugging away on their palm pilots, women putting on make-up, men shaving.

We had a horrible accident here last spring. In my field you get access to some pretty gruesome and sad stories. A van hit a rockcut and it was a mother and 18month old baby. She was talking on her cell while reaching back to give her baby a fry. She hit a rock cut. It was so sad. I've reached behind the seat tons of times to hand my kids stuff. Never again. Take the time to pull over please!!!!
