Yeah, I've seen that one on TV before. I think cats are great & all, but right about the time he bit me, we would have found out if cats can bounce. Or fly. Or fly, then bounce. Or even bounce, then fly. ;)

You would think that bro...but trust me as an avid owner of cats. Once they sink either claws or teeth into you, you need a crowbar to get 'em off!

Remember in Shrek II?

The WORST thing anyone can do with a cat like that is to make violent/aggresive motion of ANY kind, because they will dig in until they hit bone

Pagan's right on the nose here.

OUCH!! Cats claws will tear you up. It is like getting a fishing hook stuck in your skin.

Don't get me wrong, I like cats ok. I grew up around cats, lots of cats at times. This guy didn't really do anything mean that I could see to provoke the cat, the cat just went apeshit. And for all his calm and kind handling, he got cat-bitten. Nice kitty.

When the teeth go in, all bets are off. Suffice it to say he wouldn't bite me twice. I know that sounds like bravado, but I grew up on a small farm. I know that when an animal knows it can get away with that behavior with you, you are in for a world of hurt.

Bottom line, when it's my leg or the cat, the cat loses. I'm sorry if that sounds cruel, but maybe that's why I don't have a cat.

The same thinghappened to my brother in law, their house cat that they had for 10 years, for no reason bit into his calf , they couldn't get the cat to let go, he ended up in the hospital with a serous infection from the cats teeth. The vet suggested the cat had a brain tumor that drove him nuts, as it's behavior came out of nowhere, it was just a lazy housecat.

Unfortunately for the cat, sending a human to intensive care is frowned upon and he never got the reprieve from the governor to spare him

My guess why the cat went berserk is because it was on the leash and did not want held or petted by a stranger. It was scared and did not know what to do. ANY cat would react like that. ;)
Now if the animal seriously lost its senses I would have it put down. More so if it was a dog. Since they are more dominating and could seriously hurt someone. Athough I bet that guy in the video would disagree.

I apologize if my attitude towards the cat offended anyone, I agree the cat may have been scared or confused, and he was only being a cat.

MY only point is, once he has me by the leg, I have to do what I have to do to get my leg back. After that, I would hope the cat & I both would be calmer and uninjured. I'm not saying it's likely, but I'd hope.

Damn right you should! My cat was hurt and upset. :irked: :tease: lol
I totally did not take any offense. I too would do what I needed if one of my cats latched onto my leg. The thing with cats is they overreact. Their first response is to freak, out like in the video.
