NOAH’S BACK! RICK SPRINGFIELD RETURNS AS DR. NOAH DRAKE
ON ABC DAYTIME’S “GENERAL HOSPITAL”
Award winning musician and actor Rick Springfield returns as “General Hospital’s” Dr. Noah Drake, the role he originated nearly 25 years ago, it was announced today by Brian Frons, president, ABC Daytime. His first airdate will be December 2.
“Dr. Noah Drake has always been a fan favorite and we are so happy that storyline will allow for the character to make an exciting return to the canvas,” said Mr. Frons in making the announcement.
Mr. Springfield added: “I guess there was a reason why they didn’t kill Noah off in the ‘80s. This should be fun. I’m looking forward to it.”
In the upcoming storyline, Noah returns to Port Charles when Dr. Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) urgently needs him for his medical expertise in helping Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) recover from his life-threatening seizures.
Recently awarded three Daytime Emmy Awards, including a record eighth win for Best Daytime Drama, “General Hospital” celebrated 42 years of broadcasting on April 1, 2005, and is the longest-running dramatic serial on the ABC Television Network. “General Hospital” consistently rates as one of the top-rated Daytime programs with Women 18-49.
“General Hospital” was created by Frank and Doris Hursley. Jill Farren Phelps is the executive producer. Mary O'Leary, Mercer Barrows and Michelle Henry are producers. “General Hospital” airs Monday-Friday (3:00-4:00 p.m., ET, 2:00-3:00 p.m., PT) on the ABC Television Network.
