Ahh! Saturday night! WPLJ! 80's night! Cool. I finally found a station that plays all the good 80's music - well, atleast on Saturday night. WPLJ used to be the biggest radio station in New York. It's got good music during the week and one of its saying are "No Rap". hehe Not that I hate rap, but, it's not one of my favorites.. I heard Milli Vanilli (Girl You Know It's True), Bobby Brown (Every Little Step), and This Time I Know It's For Real (I forget who sings it). So! Here is the Pop Rock and Madonna Stuff forum. If you can think of a better name, just lemme know... :)

Cool your lucky, where i live there are so called 80s and 90s hit music stations but they dont play anything good. A good name for this message base would be: 80's Popculture. Not sure if it would fit but hey it sounds good.

That sounds like it would be the topic we were talking about in another area. The culture stuff.. But I don't know if we could just make it 80's.. I'll have to keep that in mind for when I'm not in a tremendous rush! :o

Okay, I changed the 80's Style forum to an 80's Style and Cultures forum (past and present)...

Sounds like a good radio station. I don't think anyone in the UK would dare play any Milli Vanilli now, after they were shown to be frauds. That is still a great track though. BTW, 'This time I know it's for real' was Donna Summer's come back track I think. Lastly, if you are ever in London, there is a local radio station (Heart FM, 106.2 FM) which plays great 80's stuff on Friday and Saturday nights. Lucasist

It's a shame they don't play the Milli Vanilli songs. Regardless, they were good songs.. Otherwise, yes, Donna Summers made her comeback with the "This time I know it's for real" lyrics.. That was a great song too...

We have a station that claims to be the "hits of the 80s, 90s, and today" What does today mean if not the 90s? Anyhow, it is sometimes a great station, but mostly it sucks. There are a lot of 80s songs, but many of them are Hewy Lewis, UB40 type songs. I can't stand either of them or others like them. I may be alone in this, but I would rather hear Maddonna, Cyndi Lauper, Wham, Starship, and other 80s pop bands. I really like these bands, but they shouldn't be mixed with 90s music like Mariah Cary or some new boy bands. Blah! So, a newer station opened up called Mega 103.5 "the beat of Miami". They play songs you'd mostly hear in a gay disco...it is awesome. Milli Vanilli, Madonna, Donna Summer, The Weather Girls, Wham, Culture Club and lots more! I think there should be a disctinction when a radio station claims to be doing an 80's "shot". I tried to request Men Without Hats "Pop Goes the World" on that first station, and they hadn't heard of it! Oh me. Well, enough of that :) Lets call the board 80s Radio!

Mirdonamy, you like "80's Radio" for a name? I guess that signifies the Pop Rock kinda music, right? Should I throw it up there?

Yeah, that way we can bitch about radio stations and rant and rave about our favorites... :) Sounds great Sal!

Here's a blast from the past Midge ure - If I was I had forgotten this song but as soon as I heard it I kicked myself for forgetting it. "If I was a painter I'd paint a world where I couldn't tame her" sigh lol

Sal Collaziano
1-06-00, 05:18 AM
Midge Ure? What's that? Wow, I must be in the clouds, huh? If it's that good... I should know it! I would think, anyway! Maybe when I hear it I will remember... What year was it popular in?

Are you cable Sal? I'll send it to you

Sal Collaziano
1-10-00, 05:50 AM
How big is it Zel? I think I have a 5mb limit. If it's in your directory I could always get it while you're on Napster! hehe Hey, I hear there is a new kind of Napster too. Called MP123.com - It's probably not as good, though.. Otherwise, sure, send me the MP3 if you get a chance. Thanks ya! :)

Zel
1-10-00, 06:57 AM
hey I'll keep that site in mind if something happens to napster. As for finding me on there right now good luck - there's over 100 servers now : ) its on its way 3.8mb

Sal Collaziano
1-10-00, 08:23 AM
Oh, thank you. I will check it out this evening.. 100 servers, huh? Well, it's not all that hard to find ya.. I mean, you're usually in the 80's room. Right? :) Otherwise, I will check out MP123 one of these days.. When I do, I will post a review...

Zel
1-11-00, 01:35 AM
I'm always in an 80s room but unfortunately these rooms don't link up from server to server : (

Sal Collaziano
1-11-00, 04:13 AM
I'm not sure what ya mean, Zel.. There is more than one 80's room because there are multiple servers? Different rooms on different servers?

Zel
1-11-00, 05:53 AM
Yep : ( Only thing this is really good for is if someone doesn't have a song you're looking for - disconnect and then connect again to whole new fresh batch of people to bug about songs lol ;P

Sal Collaziano
1-11-00, 07:21 AM
Hmm.. Well, when you do a search - it searches all servers. Right? I hope so! That would be alittle dopey if it didn't! hehe

Zel
1-11-00, 09:40 AM
Dopey it is - it only searches the server you are on at that particular time.

Sal Collaziano

Oh, man.. Then they really need to improve on that interface! That's is not how things should work in the year 2000!

Zel
1-20-00, 01:35 PM
Oh thanks for that tip on the windows player boyjoe - I'm going to have to redownload that tonight ; ) I get so happy when I hear 80s music - its like I'm 16 again (energy included - weird ay). When i found my first 80s net station on the web I was so Eurphoric that day my spouse thought I had found some really old mushrooms from another time : )

Sal Collaziano
1-23-00, 07:33 AM
I've had a couple of those in my life.. But then, when I started hearing that it sits in your spine.. heh. I got out of that really quickly. I mean, imagine? You'll need to get needles stuck in your spinal cord! Your central nervous system! No thanks! hehe

Zel
1-31-00, 10:33 PM
Whats this?? I've never heard of this Sal - do tell.

Sal Collaziano
2-01-00, 04:23 AM
Well. Acid, LSD, all that kind of tripping stuff. I don't BELIEVE it pertains to mushrooms, though.. The rest sits in your spine. Even after you are finished. You've heard of 'flashbacks' right? Well, that's how they happen. The drug affects your central nervous system (spinal cord) directly in order to give you the tripped effect. Not good!

When your young you don't realize what this stuff does to you even with everyone telling you how bad it is. I never listened.

Sal Collaziano
2-02-00, 01:45 AM
Well, I'm sure you've managed to pull through it all anyway.. It IS true that you just don't realize.. It's too much fun to think about consiquences, I guess...

Zel

I think Schrooms are safe then - hopi indians have been using them for centuries : )

Sal Collaziano

Zel

Sal Collaziano

Zel
2-04-00, 08:15 PM
Me?? Pulled over (heehee). No Way, I was paranoid even when I was sober lol

Sal Collaziano
2-06-00, 07:23 AM
I knew some woman who used to act really dizzy when getting pulled over and used "occifer" a few times. She said it's worked. I dunno! hehe :)

Zel
2-07-00, 02:21 AM
The one time I got pulled over I was very very lucky because it was my mom's highschool sweet heart ; ) I got a warning when I should have gotten a very hefty ticket and points off.

Sal Collaziano
2-07-00, 12:16 PM

Sal Collaziano

Oh my God! I've never even SEEN a 90 zone! The fastest I've ever gone is 120. What kinda car were you driving?

Zel
2-09-00, 08:26 PM
Back then an 82 Toyota Corolla sr5 - I loved that car it was a fast little 4 cylander that kicked most 8 cylander's asses. I miss that car. : ) It was my first and you always remember your first - hey new topic under culture lol : )

Sal Collaziano
2-10-00, 05:29 PM
