Hey everyone! I was thinking that on the 19th we really need to do something special on here for the 80sxchange 2nd Anniversary. Any ideas? I'm still trying to think of a few.

I have a microphone around here, but you might have to help explain to me how to set it up onto chat. I know where to hook it up on the computer already.

Well, I guess count me out of the voice chat. I found out this afternoon my boyfriend had gave the microphone to a friend a month ago. :(

I can't do voice chat but I will be there with bells on! What time should chat begin? Its a shame the 19th isn't during DJ's show. I think he should throw us a birthday show anyways - hint hint hint LOL

I'll go for sometime at night...I don't get in till between 10 and 10:30pm EST

Anytime after 7pm works for me. :) The 19th or the Wed. before works also. :)

For a regular chat, anytime between 7pm to 10pm (Central Time) is good for me.

Stacy, you and anyone else who don't have a mic can still join in the voice chat. Everyone will be heard but only the ones with a mic can talk. :)

Cool! Its going to be great to hear all your voices. First I met the personalities - all great. Then I see pictures - the best looking 80s people EVER! Now we get the whole picture.

TC told me once that I should ask you about what´s required and what have to be done to connect to Voice Chat - I have to admit that this is one of the fields in the online world I didn´t bothered with so far, as this requires to buy some additional extension cords for the headset. :D

So, if you might want to open your box of wisdom for us all...I´ll promise not to sing if it works. :D

With most Windows now thought it should basically be plug and play for any hardware you add. Further from that ...ulp can't help you. Look shiny buttons lets press one and see what happens :)

Here is what I did...When I got my mic (thanks Val) I went to yahoo chat and downloaded a program there. I followed the directions and it set me up with a few tests to check my mic. Than I was able to voice chat. :) I rarely use my mic. It's to personnal to voice chat with someone you don't know! :eek: Not my style. ;)

Unfortunately.....I won't be able to make it for the chat. Too early for me! You all have fun though, and you'll be in my thoughts that day!!!

Okay, so I can hear you talk (the ones with a mic), but there is no way I can communicate to you right? I can't type a response back if you ask a question for example? I'm just not sure how all of this works.

I think...unless I miss my guess...that voice chat allows typing as well as speaking? Am I right on that? I never tried voice chat myself either, but I know how to set up my stuff when needed :D

You can type and hear what is being said. Just like in the chat room. ;) The only problem is you have to be invited in the private room AND be registered. At least at Yahoo. :)

I see AIM has a room that can be set up! Wonder if voice chat is available through that??

Yup, Yahoo's free...it's not just the chat you sign up for, it's everything Yahoo has to offer. Once you get a Yahoo ID, you got open access to everything ;)

Someone( i could do this) has to go to Yahoo and open a private room. Than everyone who wants to come in has to be signed up at Yahoo. They also have to post their user name here so they can be invited in. :)

Okay, I´ve signed up to Yahoo chat, too, although I´m not too fond with them. Now, TC said I have to download some additional program which allows me to voice chat. Will do so when I find it...the screen surface of yahoo is even worser than a road map of Paris. :D

(You can see I´m still cautious...since that ICQ-incident, I don´t trust all of them personal messengers and stuff anymore. ;))

then once your applet loads up bring your messager group come back up. Click on Tools - Yahoo Chat Join user in chat. then ask for TC's which is adreanne2001

I would have joined....until I found out how big that stupid yahoo messenger was. Would probably take an hour just to download the thing, so I'm out :(
