Well Pamster, I know only a couple of these answers, but here's a good one to add to your list, and it's a two parter.... In what band did Joe Elliott make a name for himself (at least in England) BEFORE he was in Def Leppard? AND..... Bonus question - What 80's commercial hard rock band covered their (as far as I know) only hit song, on, if I remember correctly, their second CD, "Love And War"? Excellent trivia! I look forward to the answers! R.A. www.Atello.com

Hi Atello! Unfortunately I have never seen any referance to Joe Elliott being in any other band besides the pre Leppard (A****c M***) which Rick Savage started and once Joe Joined the name change was instituted...This is one question I have never seen an answer for! LOL!!! As for the bonus question....Hmmmm "High & Dry" was their second CD and the hit that never was is "Bringing on the Heartbreak" I know they have a song off Hysteria called "Gods of War"...You sure it was Leppard? I'm DYING to know!!! LOL!!!

The only 80s band I recall having a second album called LOVE AND WAR is one of my faves--LILLIAN AXE! Am I right? I don't remember a Def remake though. Hmm...

Hi Rockergirl! I think the only tune that Def Leppard ever covered and recorded(as they have played David Bowie songs live, but never recorded other then in video...) would be "You Can't Always Get What You Want" by the Rolling Stones... Did Lillian Axe ever have a video? I can't recall any songs they did...Hate that when memory fails me...LOL!!!!

Hello, Pamster and Rockergirl! (as well as anyone else checking in..) The answere to question #1 (what was Joe's band before Lep) is.... GIRL! (what a ridiculus name, don't ya think?) As for the bonus question, it seems that I wasn't clear in my explanation, and I appologize for driving you crazy. What I was asking was what song from Girl did a 80's metal band cover? Well, half a point goes to Rockergirl with Lillian Axe's "Love And War" CD (one of my favorites - I still want to get it on CD - a great band to see and open up for live, too) , and the song was "My Number", which I first encountered on their "Out Of The Darkness - Into The Light" best of CD. Thats all for now, R.A. www.Atello.com

Hi Atello! Hate to disappoint you but Girl was the band Phil Collen the blond guitarist was in with Phil Lewis of LA Guns...LOL!! I knew it had to be a different member as Joe was first (question #1) in "Atomic Mass" the name the band went by before Joe Suggested the name change...As for the song they (Girl) did I believe it was "Hollywood Tease" by Kiss and In fact I had the album until my Ex snatched it during the divorce along with tons of my other albums...As I recall "My Number", by Girl was the most FUNNY SOng I ever heard and I loved it!!! But I don't recall it being by a big band...If memory serves it was written by Girl...It was so funny to see Phil with make-up on!!! LOL!!!!

Pamster, I stand corrected! (I'm gonna kick my friends' ass tomorrow for telling me this all those years ago!) I just went to a Phil Collen site, and got the lowdown....you say the song "Hollywood Tease" was a cover they did? I must be misunderstanding, because if I read you right you said it was a Kiss (the one and ONLY Kiss)song, and if they wrote a song with that title, I'll hang up my trivia boxing gloves, and call it a day! I guess my only correct info was that Lillian Axe did "My Number"....did you ever hear their version? I'm sure it's a better production job, and a little heavier - I think it fit their sound and image to a T, and I dig the chord progression..... Thanks for setting the record straight, R.A. http://www.Atello.com
