Lyrics & Melodies By PJ “Blade” Allen

Verse 1
I woke up in the morning
And I’m all alone in bed
The night before was too long
And I remember every word ya said

You said ya don’t want me around no more
And you’re sick of always seein’ red
Well if that’s the way you want it, girl
Then I guess there’s nothing left to be said

Pre-Chorus 1
Cause I cried my last tear
And I won’t cry no more
It’s time to say goodbye, girl
And I wanna close that door

Chorus
Cause it’s over
And it’s time to move on
Yeah, it’s over
Now the love is finally gone
It’s over
Time to move one
Yeah, it’s over
Now that you’re gone

Verse 2
As the days the go by
And the hours grow long
I think of how I miss you
But I know I gotta be strong

Cause it’s a new day now
And I can hold my own
I don’t need the pain
Yeah I’m better off alone

Pre-Chorus 2
Cause I cried my last tear
And I won’t cry no more
I already said goodbye, girl
And I closed that door

Chorus
Cause it’s over
And it’s time to move on
Yeah, it’s over
Now the love is finally gone
It’s over
Time to move one
Yeah, it’s over
Now that you’re gone

I picked "Its Over". It seems to be mentioned a lot in the song and would make sense to call it that.

I totally agree with you on that, Iluv80s. I picked It's Over too. It's well written Megaman - whack in some nice chords and you will have yourself a great song

"It's over" is my pick. If I saw that song title on an album, I'd probably listen to it first.

I picked "It's Over"

PJ, here's some advice from someone writing lyrics for a loooooong time. You can take it or leave it, I'm just throwing it out there to you.

While what you wrote is good, (and I mean that) if you want to make people really stop and listen think about writing about something a little different.

There's nothing wrong with a good love song. However, like I told my singer, the world is flooded with "Our love used to be great but now it's not" songs. If you really want to stand out as a lyricist, move away from tired topics. There's a whole world out there waiting to be written about. Unless it's very real feelings, anyone can write about broken love or love that is good. I could probably crank out a formulated love song during a bathroom break.

Now, to take something that no one else has written about, or to take a topic that's a little off the beaten path and make it your own.....that's when you'll start to shine as a lyricist. That's what makes people like Neil Peart, James Hetfield in his prime, Bruce Dickinson, Billy Joel, Bernie Taupin and others like them masters at lyric writing. You never know what they'll come up with.

If you go further back into this forum's pages, some of my older lyrics are in there, and you'll see that the topics are anything but ordinary. It may show what I mean a little better.

Like I said, what you wrote is good....I'm just trying to lend a helping hand to make you write even better. :)

I voted for "It's Over". Seems to be the obvious choice, I guess. But I also thought "Close That Door" might be a good alternative. :)

I voted for 'It's Over', also. :) Seems like the best choice.

Great lyrics! I really like those. I picked "It's Over" as well. I also like a name like "Strong" or "Be Strong" even though it's only mentioned once in the song, it's kind of what the song is about.

"It's Over" - Melancholic enough title to spark my interest.

Lave it to me to be different. I had to go with "Nothing left". Just seems right to me somehow.
