View Full Version : Duran Duran... Raine 12-02-99, 03:11 PM ...Have finally decided to grace us with a show! They will be in Pheonix on Dec. 18th. They are playing at the Celebrity Theater. WOOHOO! Sal Collaziano 12-03-99, 05:45 AM I hope you're gonna go and give us a review! :) Raine 12-04-99, 07:36 AM It took me an HOUR to get through to the box office, and I only got row 20, but from what I hear, there is NO bad seat at Celebrity Theater. I hear they will have a rotating stage and no seat is further than 75 feet from the band! I will tell you all about it. I have heard from many people that DD ROCK live. I am still alittle disappointed that John Taylor left the band, but if they have Wes on bass, that will be cool! Duran Duran recently left their major record company. After nearly a year without a contract, they have finally signed with Hollywood records a few months back. The new album "Pop Trash" is due out in March, but I am NOT holding my breath, as they are master procrastinators (did I spell that right?). To bridge the gap between contracts, DD have been touring. They recently finished a US tour and are coming back to the US for some shows in San Diago, NYC and here. And they are doing a couple of one-offs in the UK. Earls Court in London and somewhere in Dublin. I have heard they are more accessable than ever and I have meet many people who have been able to meet the band over the course of the last tour. My fingers and toes are crossed...... And finally, speaking of JT..His new solo album has been released in Japan. You can order it as an import through Trust The Process (TTP) John's official web site. It is $26 and if ordered through TTP, you get a special bonus CD. I have ordered the CD, but have not recieved it yet. I will post a review as soon as I do! For more information or to order the CD, visit TTP! http://www.trusttheprocess.com/TTPownit.music.html pookie65 12-15-99, 07:15 PM the show in NY was FANTASTIC! you will love the show! Sal Collaziano 12-16-99, 02:50 AM Hi there, Pookie. :) Welcome to the community.. Is there a list of dates that you can post about this concert? I'd like to keep everyone updated about concerts and new happenings - I have a section for it on the front page. veeka 3-03-00, 12:26 AM I saw Duran Duran live when they first were popular in the 80's and they kicked!!! Did the young girls still scream, like it was a Beatles concert?? Not sure if I was deaf afterward from the music or all that screaming!! nikki91 3-04-00, 04:35 AM I forgot to add them to my list...I saw them in 92. I just had to go, it took forever to get them to come to Austin. We actually had to sign a petition for them to play Austin, I think the only date in Texas was Dallas. It was such a big deal, the show kicked butt though!!!!! Simons Flame 3-25-00, 08:04 PM OMG! You got to see them back in the 80's? You are so lucky. They still kick some major ass and yes most of us still scream and act like we're 13 too (I know I did last August and probably will again this year). I'm not sure how they're going to be playing this time around (i.e. venues and stuff) but they are definitely worth seeing again. *trying to find some way to send myself back through time to go to a show in 1984* |
