View Full Version : a trip to the store
I was thinking how much fun it can be if you have the right view when you go out. I had a good time laughing at everything, even though I was alone. Then I laughed harder at how silly it must look to be laughing out loud by yourself. I spent a long time reading the new bumper stickers. Had to get two of them. "Cover Me. (I'm changing lanes!!)" (yes, love the women driver jokes) and "Go on...I'll see you at the next traffic light."
everyone around here is so nice. it always amazes me, since i grew up in the hectic city, with snobs and angry people everywhere. Then I thought to myself, "Is it just me, or do all the guys here look like Angelina's guy, Billy Bob, with more meat on them?"
I think she is the coolest, by the way. She's so real. I wish I looked like her, but blonde. And she has no arrogance.
..and that was my trip to the store.
(i even left out some excitement!)
(insert humor here)
-not my quote
This town is wonderful. I find myself laughing as i am driving, it is sad that these people are actually breeding.
It is a wonderful site to go in town and seeing people driving to town on the first of the month. You don't need a calender to know when the first day of the month is. Just watch the town.
I really think these people are rude, i have lived in Michigan and they were nicer then they are here.
I use to think the reason these people waved at me was because they were nice and friendly. BUt later i found out they were just nosey. Everyone here knows everybody's business. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GET ME OUT OF HERE BEFORE I GO MAD!!!!!!!!!!
haha
by the time I have any business worth knowing, I'll be looking out over the ocean with a drink in me hand..
we dont have much business, hon. lol.
i don't think anyone would pay for our stories
You are right i have learned to keep to myself and just dont' worry about the others around here. COme on Viliji i will pay for one of your stories..
JOKE<<
You two should live here in Yorkville
Everyone knows your buisness. Everyone is related somehow. I own a barber styling salon and you would not beleive the stuff people tell us!... People around here are so narrow minded. If a person is seen with anything out of the norm they are at once classified as on drugs.
When I first started working in town here I had my nose peireced but because of the narrow-minded people her I had to take it out.
You seem like a cool person, you shouldnt' have taken it out,, you should have it pierced twice... haha.
IT sounds like you're town is like ours. I hate narrow minded people. If you are not in the norm then people point their finger. My 11 year old wanted to know what nationality he was. I am mexican and his father is Irish and his mother is an INdian. Well he wanted to know what he should tell his friends, i told him to tell them that he was an American and what where they? THis place is racist against anything other then "REDNECKS"
heh! You mad Kentuckian... I KNOW exactly what you are talking about. When I lived there, it was in a very small town. Secrets? No such thing! Me and my pierced ear and spiked up hair went over real well in the 80's there... NOT! I did love to see people's reactions though. What a hoot.
I could talk all day about the racist people here. I here 'colored people' all the time. I cringe when I hear this. I was told once ...God made flowers in dirfferent colors so why not people?? Another one, this one from my pastor.. 'What would you do if when you die and you are standing before God and he is black(or Mexican,Latin,or....)??? Too late then!
When people ask about the race of someone I like to tell them ..human
Anyways, I am sure this topic could go on forever. I thank God for all I have and who I am, reguardless
It seems like all the people that point their fingers at you because you are different are the ones that go to church regularly. THey call themselves christians but yet they gossip and are racist.. It angers me...
Well, there are a bunch of jacka$$es around here, (especially evil heart and brain donor Martha) but there are also some great people. I would rather live in this small town area because people may think they know your business, but they aren't going to shoot you over it, and Charlie the crack-head and Charlene the crack whore are miles and miles away from my kid. But that's just me. Are you gals saving up for a big move? Do what makes you happy because a narrow mind also has tunnel vision--you aren't going to broaden the horizons for those people.
I don't know if this got any airplay south of the border or across the oceans but it goes to show that you're never safe from idiots whether you live in a town of 450 or a city of 4.5 Million like ours.
You may or may not know that Toronto is chasing the 2008 summer olympics. Our bid committee went to Africa recently to drum up support from the african IOC delegates. The idiot mayor of Toronto (Mel Lastman) was quoted by journalists as saying that he was not looking forward to the trip to Kenya because he didn't fancy "...picturing himself in a pot of boiling water with natives dancing around him."
There's morons and jerks everywhere.
Roemello 6-22-01, 08:09 PM Well...you guys just gave me a good reason to never EVER leave the city...lol If I ever move outta state, I'm going to Cali or NY...no small 'redneck' villages for me I got zero tolerance for narrow minds...
Although, it'd be fun to visit one your towns and scare the locals with my 'off the norm' attitude
"I'm going back to Cali
Cali, Cali.
I'm going back to Cali.
-no, I don't think so."
well, I do. i've seen enough of the states to know where I belong. N. Ca. all the way...
Iluvthe80s 6-23-01, 11:24 PM I used to really love my hometown, but I have started disliking it in the last few years because of all the growth. Everyone used to be so polite here and now people are just plain rude (especially on the road). Sometimes I wish I could move to a small town. Earlier this year my boyfriend and I were going to move to Oklahoma where he was originally from but decided to stay here. I kind of wished we had moved.
