We're all packrats in one way or another. Me its 80s lyrics (and perfume bottles - another post). My best friend in the past 5 years went crazy over Mickey Mouse. She hit her 30th Birthday and went to a bigger center that has the Disney store and she went gunho on Mickey Mouse. Now everything she has or uses is in some relation to Mickey - 15 coats, too many clothes to count, but the most obscure and rather cool thing she has is a Mickey Mouse Bowling Ball.

I used to collect every thing under the sun, now for some reason it's no big deal to me anymore I guess I've just lost interest in a lot of stuff. Kelly is the big collector now. I have about 20 to 30 Thousand sports cards that I'm going to be getting rid of..

I absolutely hate dusting so I try to keep it simple in the collection area. My Grandmother has tons of Royal Dalton figurines so I imagine one of these days (way off in the future) I'm going to be ..dusting. LOL

I also have a lot of glass collectables, I've been selling them off. I hate cleaning this stuff to, of the 4 people that live in my house I'm the cleaning slave lol.

I have collected the McDonald's toys for years now. I have 3 entire sets of the little Beanie Babies, the Walt Disney Video figurines, most of the Barbie figurines and Disney glasses. I also collect Candle holders (as I love burning candles, especially while I take a bath) I also collect Childbirth and Breastfeeding books.... a little different I know, but I am a Doula (labour and birth support) and almost done my Breastfeeding Counsellor Course. Damn.. Blaziegrl.. Don't throw away those sports cards. Sell them! Okay? And McDonalds stuff.. Would you still happen to have Fry Benders? I would buy those off of ya! Otherwise, I just collect music, really.. I used to collect baseball cards, but.. Not anymore.. Actually, I might get interested again. But, I really just collect music.. Hmm, I did buy three movies in the last year.. Maybe I'm starting to collect them now, too.. hehe Oh, and of course, I've stopped collecting colognes.. But I have a whole heck of a lot of them! :)

I never really collected anything in the 80's. Within the last few years I got into collecting smiley face stuff, Princess Diana collector plates after she died and my boyfriend started buying the Racing Champions Hot Rockin Steel die-cast cars. They're way cool, but had to stop buying them cause it was either pay for the new house or cars.

Goomies are also called jelly bracelets. They come in lots of colors, and are rubbery. They are worn mostly 5 or more at a time. Some people in the 80s wore them up their arms and had them tied to their bed posts...if you know tricks with them, you can make pretty good hand cuffs with them :) I will try to find a website on goomies and post it here :)

I loved those braceletes, ever color had a different meaning and I had tons. I have no idea where they went to though - I moved a lot in the late 80s and early 90s and tons of stuff got lost : (

I've still got some jelly bracelets..saved most of my concert ticket stubs.(most recently Tom Petty and John Mellancamp...I'm sad cuz I'm gonna miss the Springsteen concert in May..I can't afford the tickets..damn!!!!!) Mostly collecting movies and cd's right now..that's about it. Oh yeah, I still have my rubiks cube.

Sal Collaziano
2-15-00, 05:28 PM
Still have your rubiks cube?! Wow! That's cool! hehe. Well, that's unfortunate about the Springsteen tickets.. How much are they?!

nikki91
2-15-00, 06:20 PM
Yeah, my dad just found my rubiks cube, isn't that the coolest??!! (See, I'm still into the 80's..that's nothing, wait until you hear what's in my cd collection..) The tickets are like $75...the cheap ones are $60 and all that's left are like nosebleed section. I guess I'll miss it..Waaahhh..*sniff* Waaah :( bye..Nikki

Man there is no need for concerts to be so expensive -its not like The Boss is impoverished. Bring back $20.00 arena rock!!!!!

Mirdonamy
2-16-00, 11:07 AM
Isn't it stupid how much tickets cost? It is not like poor people dont' want to see shows! I want to see Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, but tickets are $200 each. I would even go alone, but I'll have to win the lottery first! This sucks, I would love to see them. I feel your pain Nikki (though I am not into Bruce). The nosebleed/obstructed view seats are around $55 though. But, who wants that?

Zel

I don't think its performer greed either. Its the ticketmaster and promoters and record companies that are greedy.

Sal Collaziano
2-18-00, 01:28 PM
Well, Nikki.. I think we're going to have to see what's in your CD collection now. hehe You left that open for us to ask about.. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

$60.00 for the cheap tickets. Geeez! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":(">

2-29-00, 08:18 AM
Hey, I'll join! There are so many damn shows I want to see...but can't afford them. Even Pearl Jam is charging over $20 and they were so against that...but no venues would allow them to play for that cheap, so they had to charge more. That sucks! Venues and Ticketmaster suck! I'll host a free Pearl Jam show in my yard, but someone else has to clean up the beer bottles.

wow.. The Damned "Phantasmagoria" was my favorite Damned tape ever. I don;t know why I just could not get into the eariler stuff.. but "pahantasmagoria" is CLASSIC..

I collect cd's, lp's and the thing I MOST collect are heavy metal/thrash band tour shirts from the 80's. I have a total obsession with it. All my money is draining into ebay.. :eek
