Does anyone remember that? I remember I was watching the Grammys and everyone was leaving to go to the studio to record it. That was like a big thing. MTV kept playing that video over and over and then they did the broadcast around the world at the same time. I was like in the 6th grade, living in Montgomery, Alabama when it came out..everyone would be singing it at school.

Hmm. How old are you, Nikki? That was in 1985. I was in like 6th grade too but I'm 28 now. I thought you were alot younger than me... Anyway, yeah, those were cool days.. I don't remember exactly where I was.. Probably on my school bus on the way home - on somebody's boom box or something...

That's so sweet of you to say!! I'm 27..I'll be 28 in August. Dad was in the military so I travelled a lot!! Been here in Austin since '87 (9th grade). Anyway, the 91 in my name (Nikki91) is for when I graduated from high school. :) xxoo

I loved the whole Band-Aid concept. Canada did their own with Tears Are Not Enough by Northern Lights (all our big Canadian singers unfortunately including Anne Murray - we were over dosed on her gag) and then it was Do they Know its Christmas (sting still haunts me with those lyrics) : )

I don't remember exactly but I do remember the song. Zel the Canadian group Northern Lights...didn't Geddy Lee from Rush perform on it? I'm a big fan of theirs. Don't forget about our metal friends with Hear 'n Aid doing the song "Stars".

Oh yeah Geddy Lee was definitely in that group I love Rush too - I saw them in concert in 86 (my first big concert). We were way back in the nosebleed section but the lasers and the amazing 10 minute drum solo and the recreational passarounds were great

There are some I can't remember right now. Some of the people mentioned are no longer in the bands listed.

Sal if you can find a copy of this song I highly recommend it. It has one of the best guitar solos I have ever heard. It was done by something like 10 different guitarists edited to sound like one. Not to mention a very good song.

I don't remember exactly. I do remember it was the first song I ever knew all the words to though.

My favorite (still is my favorite Christmas song) is Do They Know Its Christmas by Band Aid.

That song was awesome!!! I wonder if there is a tab or sheet music anywhere with the guitar solo on it?

If you know email me back the info:

I remember hearing this song for the first time when it was setup as a world-wide simul-cast on multipal radio stations around the world. They all played the some for the first time. In light of the disaster TODAY, we should have a reply of this song. Though it was a benifit to Africa, I think it too will work with our situation today in the world with WAR and our PEACE KEEPING EFFORTS!!

Neil Young was the coolest of all the performers on this recording. Funny thing is, Neil is one of the few still around recording and performing.

Neil Rocks!!!!
