..maybe I should go on. Some of you know that today there was an issue in the Love Lounge. I voiced my opinion and most people took it wrong. I have reread the post and I can see now where I might have been a little overboard, but I am still meaning what I said.

For the last 6 months, the xchange has been a part of my life. I have enjoyed it and have loved contributing to this board with my trivia, album reviews, and biographies. I just don't feel welcomed here anymore.

It's a shame because my Mom always told me to be myself and never just go along with everyone else because it may be the "in" thing to say. I did that today and it got me nowhere. I will go now. Thanks for a fun 6 months.

I hope that you will return...otherwise my small effort would make no sense. ;)

Stacy, that´s a natural reaction - if you take part in a discussion, you might find yourself in a minority with your opinion which is maybe not welcomed.
Nonetheless, you have every right to state what´s on your mind, and as you have seen, you have made some good points which caused others to rethink their minds or at least seeing different points of views. In my case, this proves that your contributions are worthy ones.

And I´m also sure that if you´re not welcomed here anymore, the one or another had let you known in a reasonable tone.

Besides - I would also miss your other contributions, like your trivias. Although I couldn´t take part in each of them due to my simple lack of knowledge, I´ve enjoyed them nonetheless, as they also helped me to learn more about a different language.

Your mom is absolutely right. I´ll definetly say that you were more braver than me, as I´ve decided not to say my mind to each topic here in an effort to keep peace and stay on the good side with the folks here - I´m also disagreeing on certain posts, but that´s a different story.
Maybe you just need some time to get a little distance from all this.
For me, I just say 'stay'. ;)

Stacy....don't go. You did nothing wrong in voicing your opinion. Just a subject that I think shocked everyone today. I know it did me. I understand you're point of view on this. Maybe a little better than others. I too have very strong opinions on things and have been misunderstood in the past. It hasn't happened here, but I almost lost a friend over something once. Took a while for me to get her to understand what I really meant. Sometimes the written word is taken differently by the people reading it than how you meant it. You'd be missed here if you left. Please rethink this and stay here. :)

Just because we have a difference in opinions is no reason to go. :) You contribute a lot to the message board and it would be a shame if you did leave. :)

I believe we handled the disagreement in an adult way. Neither of us insulted the other personally. :) We see things differently and that's fine by me. ;)

Remember, if you do go, someone will come and get you! (you should be hoping now it isn't Ted) There is no escaping the xchange! :eek:

I seriously hope you reconsider, I love alot of your posts , your reviews your trivia all of it, I think you have every right to your opinion and everyone else has that same right, hell I hate the Facts of Life and always make negative comments about it and I'm not going anywhere's

Practically everyone over at Toonzone supports Eminem...I was the only dissenter...it turned into a venom-spewing flame war, pitting me against over 40 people who were normally my friends. The administrators suggested I get mental help, but I recovered. I still loathe Eminem with a passion and ferocity unlike any other, but I can realize that other people are entitled to their opinions. It is my sincere hope that you do, too, if only so it will help you see that we all love you here. We're a family that spans the decades, and families are bound to fight, but at the end of the day, the families still love each other. Take some time to think about it, and remember there's always a spot open for you here at the exchange.

ugh...the opinions of one or two people doesn't make you unwelcome here...I don't know where you're getting that idea. Personally, I love your presence on the board...it's genuine 80's fans like you that make the place as good as it is :)

In the two year history of the Xchange, only 1 person comes to mind that was ever unwelcome, and you certainly aren't that person. Don't let one or two people's opinions spoil your fun here...

You know, Stacy, it would be a pity if you walk away now. Just because a few of us disagreed with you, certainly doesn't make you unwelcome. I thought you were tougher than that.

Not everyone has the same beliefs, and we don't have to. I have disagreed with quite a few posts in the Major News forums, but instead of posting and arguing, I just let it go and stated my opinions on the facts before me. I don't have to agree with 1999 other members. I only have to be civil and remember my manners. And I wouldn't let this kind of thing make me leave.

You admit that had someone else written your post, you may have thought it a bit overboard. I am not asking you to change your beliefs, Stacy, that is who you are. Maybe the emoticons would do us all a great service in these areas. :) I'll start :).

I Somewhat know how you feel Stacy, cause i almost left myself, but in the Xchange, just as in life, Nothing's perfect and every now and then there's gonna be problems. Thats the way life if. If Eveyone had the same opinions the world would be a really dull place

After clearing things up to my satisfaction in the Love Lounge just now I have decided to stay and give it another try. You guys know I would go through posting withdrawals if I couldn't post here anymore. :D Thanks for everyone's support.

Whew! Stacy, I am so glad you decided to stay... You are a regular here and I know I would have missed you. Don't you ever stop my heart like that again. :mad: I have had some rampant disagreements with a few here before. I say what is on my mind though and if people don't like it - then they'll just have to deal with it. I'm not changing who I am just to be one of the group. Neither should you!

I took a big sigh of relief when I read your second message, Stacy. I'm glad you've decided to stay. You are definitely one of the biggest 80s fans here and it goes without saying - one of the most friendly as well. That's a combination in a friend that I would not want to lose...

I don't expect everyone to agree with me all the time but I know that if they do have something to say it is related to that post and not to the person in general. You are a big part of this place and this wouldn't be an 80sXchange birthday without you :)

if something called the 'love lounge' has hurt all these people, maybe it should be renamed!

i haven't even seen it yet, so i guess i'm not one to talk.

if the 80's group is all friends, nothing should encourage someone to leave from here.
