This is a bit of a convuluted story but...

When I was 7 just ready to turn 8, I used to read those advertisements in comic books. You know those ones that sell the practical jokes and magic tricks? One, in particular, fascinated me, however I just didn't understand the concept. It advertised that if you put a slip of paper into this machine, turned the handle and out from the set of rollers would come an actual dollar bill. I was fascinated and dumbstruck and I wanted one (so I could make my own money). Mom wouldn't buy me one. So a week before my birthday, I was looking at the toy section of the grocery store when low and behold, there was that money making machine. It was a week before my birthday, mom said no, but you can buy it with your birthday money. A week later, I come back, no machine to be had, they are all gone. I was heartbroken. :lol:
It wasn't until many years later, did I realize, *you* had to be the one to put the actual dollar in the "secret compartment" that would "magically" come out after you rolled the blank paper in the other section.
I only wish mom would have explained that to me, and I guess I should be thankful she never bought it for me. Kids sure are gullible, aren't they? :argh: :no:

Her name was Jennifer Jensen. We used to write alot. About once a week, and we wrote to each other for YEARS. At least though graduation from high school (8 years), actually longer then that. Then we kinda fell out of touch, I moved, she moved. I haven't heard from her in 10 years. I'd like to get back in touch with her again. The other pen pal was a girl named Shirin Ismail from Malaysia. I had a hard time reading her handwriting, so we did not write as often or nearly as long. We wrote maybe a couple years and then just stopped. I used to love getting mail.
