Bad news for you folks in Ohio if you haven't heard...

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Republicans in the Ohio House want to put the hammerlock on Stone Cold Steve Austin and other professional wrestling stars by tagging a 5 percent tax on pro wrestling events in the state.

The tax would be collected through the Ohio Athletics Commission and is similar to a 5 percent tax the state collects on boxing matches. It would raise an estimated $150,000 a year, Paul Amodio, the commission's executive director, said Monday.

About 85 to 90 pro wrestling events take place in Ohio each year.

This is nothing new for Ohio, the land of the rediculas tax,Up here in Cleveland, they instituted a Sin tax on Cigarettes to help build the Gund arena and Jacobs field, then banned smoking in both places. The Ohio motto is,if it's popular...TAX IT!So this comes as no shock to me.

I saw something on this last night and it said that they decided against doing this. Don't remember exactly what it said. Was falling asleep when I saw it. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//laugh.gif
