Hi Vee. New here? Welcome.

I do have a list of songs I want from the 80's. There are about 890 songs on it. I'm trying to find every Hot 100 song of te 80's from the US charts. Considering I already have over 4,000 of them 890 isn't that much. I wouldnt mind having all the British hits either. I'm sick that way.

They called themselves Lick the Tin Vilji.

I have no idea who was in the band or what else they have recorded. Their version of I Can't Help Falling in Love is on the soundtrack for Some Kind of Wonderful and also on the soundtrack for The Snapper.

If anyone knows who they are or where they went I would appreciate an update.

"Living In A Box" is by... Living In A Box!!!!
I always thought it was conceited to mention your own band's name in a song!!!

soundofherwings
7-23-01, 02:10 PM
lol. you're kidding?!
that would be just like me ..not to know the name of the band when it's song title..

private eyes - hall and oats.
iko iko - by ..someone, no idea who.
say say say - micheal jackson and paul mcartney

Amazulu may have done that but the version made popular here in the States was by the Belle Stars from the movie "Rain man"

Cyndi Lauper did one, too. I still like the Belle Stars version best myself!

It was originally done in the 60's by the Dixie Cups, the same ladies who did "Chaple of love"

I loved all of those!!

I was just thinking of a band that I got hooked on when I went away to Kent. They were called Book of Love. I think someone stole the tape I had, b/c now I cannot find it. Does anyone remember this band, and if so, help! I want to find a copy of this again! My fave song on it was this girl talking about how she didn't need a man, b/c she could take care of herself. (Underlying meaning there.)

Hi DancingDoll.

I do remember Book Of Love their most popular Cd is simply titled " Book OF Love from 85/86.
With some of their most popular songs including:
You Make Me Feel So Good
I Touch Roses
Boy
& Modigliani

This CD is pretty common and you should be able to pick it up at any or most music stores.
Hoped this helped.

Later..

I need a Thompson Twins greatest hits and a Pet Shop Boys greatest hits. I recently bought a Howard Jones CD so I could satisfy my urges to weep along with "No one is to blame."

Oddly, I would also like...

"I wanna be a cowboy" - (band?)
"Walk the Dinosaur" - Was (Not Was)
"Somewhere Out There" - preferably the movie version with the mice singing, from An American Tail

And all of Weird Al's polka mixes.
